AndוַJobאִיּוֹבansweredיַּעַןand said:וַיֹּאמַר
“Evenגַּםtodayהַיּוֹםmy complaintשִׂחִיis rebellion;מְרִיmy handיָדִיis heavyכָּבְדָהonעַלmy sighing.אַנְחָתִי
If onlyמִי יִתֵּןI knewיָדַעְתִּיhow to find him;וְאֶמְצָאֵהוּI would comeאָבוֹאtoעַדhis seat.תְּכוּנָתוֹ
I would lay outאֶעֶרְכָהmy caseמִשְׁפָּטbefore him,לְפָנָיוand fillאֲמַלֵּאmy mouthוּפִיwith arguments.תוֹכָחוֹת
I would knowאֵדְעָהthe wordsמִלִּיםwith which he would answer me,יַעֲנֵנִיand understandוְאָבִינָהwhatמַהhe would say to me.יֹּאמַר לִי
Would he contendיָרִיבwith meעִמָּדִיin the greatnessהַבְּרָבof his strength?כֹּחַNo;לֹאsurelyאַךְheהוּאwould pay attention to me.יָשִׂם בִּי
Thereשָׁםan upright manיָשָׁרcould argueנוֹכָחwith him,עִמּוֹand I would go freeוַאֲפַלְּטָהforeverלָנֶצַחfrom my judge.מִשֹּׁפְטִי
Look,הֵןI goאֶהֱלֹךְeast,קֶדֶםand he is not there;וְאֵינֶנּוּand west,וְאָחוֹרand I do notוְלֹאperceive him;אָבִין לוֹ
north,שְׂמֹאולwhen he works,בַּעֲשֹׂתוֹand I do notוְלֹאcatch sight of him;אָחַזhe hides himselfיַעְטֹףin the south,יָמִיןand I do notוְלֹאsee him.אֶרְאֶה
Forכִּיhe knowsיָדַעthe wayדֶּרֶךְthat is with me;עִמָּדִיhe has tested me:בְּחָנַנִיlike goldכַּזָּהָבI will come forth.אֵצֵא
My footרַגְלִיhas held fastאָחֲזָהto his steps;בַּאֲשֻׁרוֹhis wayדַּרְכּוֹI have kept,שָׁמַרְתִּיand have notוְלֹאturned aside.אָט
From the commandmentמִצְוַתof his lipsשְׂפָתָיוI have notוְלֹאdeparted;אָמִישׁmore than my portionמֵחֻקִּיI have stored upצָפַנְתִּיthe sayingsאִמְרֵיof his mouth.פִיו
But heוְהוּאis one,בְאֶחָדand whoוּמִיcan turn him back?יְשִׁיבֶנּוּWhat his soulוְנַפְשׁוֹdesires,אִוְּתָהthat he does.וַיָּעַשׂ
Forכִּיhe will carry outיַשְׁלִיםwhat he has appointed for me,חֻקִּיand many thingsוְ רַבּוֹתlike theseכָהֵנָּהare with him.עִמּוֹ
Thereforeעַל כֵּןI am troubledאֶבָּהֵלbefore his face;מִפָּנָיוI consider,אֶתְבּוֹנֵןand I dreadוְאֶפְחַדhim.מִמֶּנּוּ
Elוְאֵלhas softenedהֵרַךְmy heart,לִבִּיand Shaddaiוְשַׁדַּיhas troubled me.הִבְהִילָנִי
ForכִּיI have notלֹאvanishedנִצְמַתִּיbeforeמִפְּנֵיdarkness,חֹשֶׁךְthoughוּgloomאֹפֶלcoversכִּסָּהmy face.מִפָּנַי
