1 Peter 4:12–13
Peter says the fire of trial is nothing strange
Study it word by word12Beloved, do not be surprised at the fire among you, which comes upon you for a trial, as though something strange were happening to you,
13but insofar as you share in the sufferings of the Messiah, rejoice, so that also at the revelation of his glory you may rejoice with great gladness.
In its context
10Each one, as he has received a gift, serving one another with it as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
11If anyone speaks, let him speak as speaking the words of God; if anyone serves, let him serve as from the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus the Messiah, to whom belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
…
14If you are reproached for the name of the Messiah, you are happy, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
15For let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler.
