1 Peter 4:8–10
Fervent love, an open home, and each gift used to serve others
Study it word by word8Above all, have earnest love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
9Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
10Each one, as he has received a gift, serving one another with it as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
In its context
6For to this end the good news was proclaimed even to the dead, so that, though judged according to human beings in the flesh, they might live according to God in the spirit.
7But the end of all things has drawn near. So be sensible and sober for prayers.
…
11If anyone speaks, let him speak as speaking the words of God; if anyone serves, let him serve as from the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus the Messiah, to whom belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
12Beloved, do not be surprised at the fire among you, which comes upon you for a trial, as though something strange were happening to you,
