1 Timothy 2:1–4
Paul urges prayer for everyone, including those who govern
Study it word by word1I urge, then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
2for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
3This is good and acceptable before God our Savior,
4who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
In its context
…
5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and people, a man, the Messiah Jesus,
6who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time.
