Colossians 3:5–10
Lay aside the old like clothing and put on the new
Study it word by word5So put to death the members that are on the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry;
6because of which things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
7in which you also once walked when you were living in them.
8But now you also put away all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, obscene talk from your mouth.
9Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old man with its practices,
10and have put on the new man, which is being renewed for knowledge according to the image of the one who created it,
In its context
3For you died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.
4When the Messiah, your life, is made manifest, then you also will be made manifest with him in glory.
…
11where there is no Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free, but the Messiah is all and in all.
12So put on, as chosen ones of God, holy and beloved, compassionate affection, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience,
