Job 2:11–13
Job's friends come to comfort him and sit with him
Study it word by word11When Job’s three companions heard all this evil that had come upon him, they came, each from his place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; they arranged to meet together to come to show him sympathy and to comfort him.
12They lifted up their eyes from a distance and did not recognize him, and they raised their voices and wept; each tore his robe, and they scattered dust over their heads toward the heavens.
13They sat with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that the pain was very great.
In its context
9His wife said to him, “Are you still holding fast to your integrity? Curse Elohim and die.”
10He said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we accept the good from Elohim too, and not accept the evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
