Luke 11:1–4
A disciple asks Jesus to teach them to pray, and he answers with the Father's prayer
Study it word by word1And it happened, while he was praying in a certain place, that when he stopped, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
2And he said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, may your name be sanctified; may your kingdom come;
3give us each day our daily bread;
4and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us; and do not bring us into temptation.”
