Luke 17:11–19

Of ten lepers healed, only the Samaritan returns to give thanks

11And it happened, as he was going to Jerusalem, that he was passing between Samaria and Galilee.

12And as he was entering into a certain village, ten leprous men met him, who stood at a distance.

13And they raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14And seeing them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And it happened that as they were going, they were cleansed.

15And one of them, seeing that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice;

16and he fell on his face at his feet, giving thanks to him; and he was a Samaritan.

17And Jesus answered and said, “Were not the ten cleansed? But the nine, where are they?

18Were there none found returning to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

19And he said to him, “Get up and go; your faith has saved you.”

9He does not thank the slave because he did the things commanded, does he?

10So you also, when you have done all the things commanded you, say, ‘We are worthless slaves; what we ought to do we have done.’”

20And being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming in a way that can be observed,

21nor will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘There!’ For look, the kingdom of God is among you.”
