Micah 7:7–8
Micah waits for YHWH: “though I have fallen, I will rise”; even in darkness YHWH is a light
Study it word by word7But I will watch for YHWH; I will await the Elohim of my salvation; my Elohim will hear me.
8Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; for though I have fallen, I will rise; though I sit in darkness, YHWH is a light for me.
In its context
5Do not believe a neighbor; do not trust in a companion; from her who lies in your bosom guard the doors of your mouth.
6For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
…
9The rage of YHWH I will bear, for I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes justice for me; he will bring me out to the light; I will see his righteousness.
10And my enemy will see, and shame will cover her, who said to me, “Where is YHWH your Elohim?” My eyes will look on her; now she will be for trampling like the mud of the streets.
Its words in the original
- יהוָהyhva· YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Watch, keep watch, observe closely.
- אוֹחִילָהochila· wait, hope

- אלֹהֵיlohe· Elohim, God, gods
The Hebrew word usually translated "God". This translation keeps "Elohim" when it speaks of the one true God, the Creator, the God of Israel. The word ends like a plural, but it does not mean several: for him the verb is singular ("Elohim created"); the plural form expresses greatness. The same word as a common noun names the "gods" of other peoples, and there it is a true plural, translated "gods". It is also used of mighty ones or judges.
