Psalms 2:1–6
Kings and nations conspire, and the one in the heavens laughs
Study it word by word1Why are the nations in turmoil, and the peoples meditate a vain thing?
2The kings of the earth take their stand, and the dignitaries conspire together against YHWH and against his anointed:
3“Let us tear apart their bonds and cast away from us their ropes.”
4He who sits in the heavens laughs; Adonai mocks them.
5Then he will speak to them in his anger, and with his burning wrath he will dismay them:
6“But I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
