2 Chronicles 12:7, word by word
- When YHWHיְהוָהyehva
YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

2 Chronicles 12:1-12
1And it happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and he became strong, that he abandoned the instruction of YHWH, and all Israel with him. 2And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem— because they had been unfaithful to YHWH— 3with a thousand two hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen; and there was no number to the people who came with him from Egypt: Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites. 4He captured the fortified cities that belonged to Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 5Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the officials of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, “Thus says YHWH: ‘You have abandoned me, so I too have abandoned you into the hand of Shishak.’” 6The officials of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “YHWH is righteous.” 7When YHWH saw that they had humbled themselves, the word of YHWH came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them, and I will give them escape in a little while, and my fury will not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. 8But they will be his servants, and they will know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the lands.” 9Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took the treasures of the house of YHWH and the treasures of the house of the king; everything he took. He also took the shields of gold that Solomon had made. 10King Rehoboam made in their place bronze shields, and entrusted them to the hand of the commanders of the runners who guarded the doorway of the king’s house. 11And it happened, as often as the king went into the house of YHWH, the runners came and carried them, and brought them back to the guardroom of the runners. 12When he humbled himself, the anger of YHWH turned from him, so as not to destroy him completely; and also in Judah there were good things.
25And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem. 26He took the treasures of the house of YHWH and the treasures of the house of the king; and everything he took. He also took all the shields of gold that Solomon had made. 27King Rehoboam made in their place bronze shields, and entrusted them to the hand of the commanders of the runners who guarded the doorway of the king’s house. 28And it happened, as often as the king went into the house of YHWH, that the runners carried them, and brought them back to the guardroom of the runners.
