ThenאָזSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהassembledיַקְהֵילthe eldersזִקְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלand allוְ כָּלthe headsרָאשֵׁיof the tribes,הַמַּטּוֹתthe chiefsנְשִׂיאֵיof the fathers’ housesהָאָבוֹתof the sonsלִבְנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלinאֶלJerusalem,יְרוּשָׁלִָםto bring upלְהַעֲלוֹתthe arkאֲרוֹןof the covenantבְּרִיתof YHWHיְהוָהfrom the cityמֵעִירof David,דָּוִידwhichהִיאis Zion.צִיּוֹן
Allכָּלthe menאִישׁof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלassembledוַיִּקָּהֲלוּbeforeאֶלthe kingהַמֶּלֶךְat the feast,בֶּחָגthat is,הוּאthe seventhהַ הַשְּׁבִעִיmonth.חֹדֶשׁ
Allכֹּלthe eldersזִקְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלcame,וַיָּבֹאוּand the Levitesהַלְוִיִּםcarriedוַיִּשְׂאוּthe ark.הָאָרוֹן
They brought upוַיַּעֲלוּthe ark,הָאָרוֹןthe tentוְ אֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדand allוְ כָּלthe holyהַקֹּדֶשׁutensilsכְּלֵיthat wereאֲשֶׁרin the tent;בָּאֹהֶלthe priests,הַכֹּהֲנִיםthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםbroughtהֶעֱלוּthem up.אֹתָם
KingוְהַמֶּלֶךְSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהand allוְכָלthe communityעֲדַתof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלwho had gatheredהַנּוֹעָדִיםto him,עָלָיוwere beforeלִפְנֵיthe ark,הָאָרוֹןsacrificingמְזַבְּחִיםsheepצֹאןand cattleוּבָקָרthatאֲשֶׁרcould notלֹאbe countedיִסָּפְרוּorוְלֹאnumberedיִמָּנוּfor multitude.מֵרֹב
The priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםbroughtוַיָּבִיאוּthe arkאֲרוֹןof the covenantבְּרִיתof YHWHיְהוָהtoאֶלits place,מְקוֹמוֹtoאֶלthe inner sanctuaryדְּבִירof the house,הַבַּיִתto the Most Holy Place,אֶל קֹדֶשׁ הַקְּדָשִׁיםunderאֶל תַּחַתthe wingsכַּנְפֵיof the cherubim.הַכְּרוּבִים
The cherubimהַכְּרוּבִיםspreadוַיִּהְיוּ פֹּרְשִׂיםtheir wingsכְּנָפַיִםoverעַלthe placeמְקוֹםof the ark,הָאָרוֹןand the cherubimוַ הַכְּרוּבִיםcoveredיְכַסּוּthe arkעַל הָאָרוֹןand its polesוְעַל בַּדָּיוfrom above.מִלְמָעְלָה
The polesהַבַּדִּיםwere long,וַיַּאֲרִיכוּso that the endsוַ רָאשֵׁיof the polesהַבַּדִּיםwere seenיֵּרָאוּfromמִןthe ark,הָאָרוֹןin front ofעַל פְּנֵיthe inner sanctuary,הַדְּבִירbut they were notוְלֹאseenיֵרָאוּoutside;הַחוּצָהand it has beenוַיְהִיthereשָׁםtoעַדthisהַזֶּהday.הַיּוֹם
There was nothingאֵיןin the arkבָּאָרוֹןexceptרַקthe twoשְׁנֵיtabletsהַלֻּחוֹתthatאֲשֶׁרMosesמֹשֶׁהput thereנָתַןat Horeb,בְּחֹרֵבwhereאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהmade a covenantכָּרַתwithעִםthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלwhen they came outבְּצֵאתָםof Egypt.מִמִּצְרָיִם
And it happened,וַיְהִיwhen the priestsבְּ הַכֹּהֲנִיםcame outצֵאתofמִןthe Holy Place—הַקֹּדֶשׁforכִּיallכָּלthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםwho were presentהַנִּמְצְאִיםhad sanctified themselves,הִתְקַדָּשׁוּwithout keepingאֵין לִשְׁמוֹרthe divisions—לְמַחְלְקוֹת
and the Levites,וְהַלְוִיִּםthe singers,הַמְשֹׁרֲרִיםall of them,לְכֻלָּםAsaph,לְאָסָףHeman,לְהֵימָןJeduthun,לִידֻתוּןand their sonsוְלִבְנֵיהֶםand their brothers,וְלַאֲחֵיהֶםclothedמְלֻבָּשִׁיםin fine linen,בּוּץwith cymbals,בִּמְצִלְתַּיִםharps,וּבִנְבָלִיםand lyres,וְכִנֹּרוֹתwere standingעֹמְדִיםeastמִזְרָחof the altar,לַמִּזְבֵּחַand with themוְעִמָּהֶםa hundredלְמֵאָהand twentyוְעֶשְׂרִיםpriestsכֹּהֲנִיםsoundingמַחְצְרִיםthe trumpets;בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת
and it happened,וַיְהִיas one,כְאֶחָדthat the trumpetersלַמְחַצְּרִיםand the singersוְלַמְשֹׁרֲרִיםwere to makeלְoneאֶחָדvoiceקוֹלheardהַשְׁמִיעַto praiseלְהַלֵּלand to give thanksוּלְהֹדוֹתto YHWH;לַיהוָהand when they raisedוּכְהָרִיםtheir voiceקוֹלwith the trumpetsבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתand with cymbalsוּבִמְצִלְתַּיִםand with instrumentsוּבִכְלֵיof song,הַשִּׁירand praisedוּבְהַלֵּלYHWH,לַיהוָה“Forכִּיhe is good,טוֹבforכִּיhis loyal loveחַסְדּוֹis forever,”לְעוֹלָםthen the houseוְהַבַּיִתwas filledמָלֵאwith a cloud,עָנָןthe houseבֵּיתof YHWH,יְהוָה
and the priestsוְ הַכֹּהֲנִיםcould notלֹא יָכְלוּstandלַעֲמוֹדto ministerלְשָׁרֵתbecause ofמִפְּנֵיthe cloud,הֶעָנָןforכִּיthe gloryכְבוֹדof YHWHיְהוָהhad filledמָלֵאthe houseבֵּיתof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִים
