Go to Matthew 12:40

Jesus compares his time in the heart of the earth with Jonah’s three days and three nights in the belly of the fish (Jonah 1:17).

The biblical author himself makes the connection, in these words:

ὥσπερ γὰρ ἦν Ἰωνᾶς ἐν τῇ κοιλίᾳ τοῦ κήτους τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας “just as Jonah was in the belly of the sea monster three days and three nights” (Matthew 12:40)

Jonah 1:17, word by word

And YHWHיְהוָהyehva

YHWH

The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.
