1 Corinthians 15:14–20
Paul: if the Messiah has not been raised, our faith is empty
Study it word by word14and if the Messiah has not been raised, then our preaching is empty, and your faith is empty.
15And we are also found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that he raised the Messiah, whom he did not raise if in fact the dead are not raised.
16For if the dead are not raised, not even the Messiah has been raised;
17and if the Messiah has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
18Then also those who fell asleep in the Messiah perished.
19If we have hoped in the Messiah in this life only, we are more to be pitied than all people.
20But now the Messiah has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
In its context
12Now if it is preached that the Messiah has been raised from the dead, how is it that some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even the Messiah has been raised;
…
21For since through a man came death, also through a man has come the resurrection of the dead.
22For just as in Adam all die, so also in the Messiah all will be made alive.
