Acts 16:6–10
The Spirit closes some roads, then Paul sees a Macedonian in a vision asking for help
Study it word by word6And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been prevented by the Holy Spirit from speaking the word in Asia.
7And when they came opposite Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.
8So passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas.
9And a vision appeared to Paul during the night: a certain Macedonian man was standing and urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
10And when he saw the vision, at once we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to proclaim the good news to them.
In its context
4And as they were going through the cities, they were delivering to them the decrees decided on by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem, for them to keep.
5So the assemblies were being strengthened in the faith and were increasing in number daily.
…
11So setting sail from Troas, we ran a straight course to Samothrace, and on the following day to Neapolis,
12and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia, a Roman colony. And we were staying in this city some days.
