Luke 19:1–10

He invites himself to the house of Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector, and everything changes

And he entered and was passing through Jericho.

And look, there was a man called by name Zacchaeus; and he was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

And he was trying to see who Jesus was, and he could not because of the crowd, for he was small in stature.

And running ahead he climbed up into a sycamore-fig tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way.

And when he came to the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

And he hurried and came down and welcomed him rejoicing.

And when they saw it, all began grumbling, saying, “He has gone in to be the guest of a sinful man.”

But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I give to the poor; and if I have extorted anything from anyone by false accusation, I pay back four times as much.”

And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”
