Mark 13:32–37
Like the doorkeeper of a house, you must stay awake
Study it word by word32But concerning that day or the hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
33Watch out, stay awake; for you do not know when the time is.
34It is like a man away on a journey, who left his house and gave his slaves authority, to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.
35So keep watch, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or early in the morning;
36lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping.
37And what I say to you I say to all: keep watch.”
In its context
30Truly I tell you that this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things happen.
31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
