Mark 15:16–20

The soldiers mock him with a crown of thorns and a purple robe

16And the soldiers led him away inside the courtyard, which is the praetorium, and they call together the whole cohort.

17And they clothe him in purple, and after twisting a crown of thorns, they put it on him.

18And they began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

19And they were striking his head with a reed and spitting on him, and bending their knees, they were paying homage to him.

20And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple and put his own clothes on him. And they lead him out to crucify him.
