Philippians 1:21–24
Paul says that for him to live is the Messiah and to die is gain
Study it word by word21For to me to live is the Messiah, and to die is gain.
22But if I am to live in the flesh, this is fruit of work for me; and what I will choose I do not know.
23I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and to be with the Messiah, for that is far, far better;
24but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for your sake.
In its context
19for I know that this will turn out for me for salvation through your prayer and the support of the Spirit of Jesus the Messiah,
20according to my eager expectation and hope that I will be put to shame in nothing, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also the Messiah will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
…
25And being confident of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
26so that your boasting may abound in the Messiah Jesus because of me through my presence with you again.
