- YHWHיְהוָהyehva
YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Damascus
Today: Damascus, capital of Syria
A city in southern Syria, about 135 miles (220 km) northeast of Jerusalem; today it is the capital of Syria.
David put it under his control (2 Sam 8:6). On the road to Damascus, Jesus appeared to Saul, who was going to persecute believers (Acts 9:3-5).
The context
14He said, “I have been very jealous for YHWH, Elohim Tsevaot, for the sons of Israel have abandoned your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword; and I am left, I alone, and they seek my life, to take it away.”
