And it happenedוַיְהִיin the four hundredוְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹתand eightiethבִשְׁמוֹנִיםyearשָׁנָה שָׁנָהafter the going outלְצֵאתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלfrom the landמֵאֶרֶץof Egypt,מִצְרַיִםin the fourth yearבַּשָּׁנָה הָרְבִיעִיתin the monthבְּחֹדֶשׁof Ziv,זִוthat isהוּאthe secondהַשֵּׁנִיmonth,הַחֹדֶשׁof Solomon’sשְׁלֹמֹהreignלִמְלֹךְoverעַלIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלthat he builtוַיִּבֶןthe houseהַבַּיִתfor YHWH.לַיהוָה
And the houseוְהַבַּיִתthatאֲשֶׁרKingהַמֶּלֶךְSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהbuiltבָּנָהfor YHWHלַיהוָה— sixtyשִׁשִּׁיםcubitsאַמָּהwas its length,אָרְכּוֹand twentyוְעֶשְׂרִיםits width,רָחְבּוֹand thirtyוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםcubitsאַמָּהits height.קוֹמָתוֹ
And the porticoוְהָאוּלָםin front ofעַל פְּנֵיthe templeהֵיכַלof the house:הַבַּיִתtwentyעֶשְׂרִיםcubitsאַמָּהwas its length,אָרְכּוֹalongעַל פְּנֵיthe widthרֹחַבof the house;הַבָּיִתtenעֶשֶׂרcubitsבָּאַמָּהwas its widthרָחְבּוֹin front ofעַל פְּנֵיthe house.הַבָּיִת
And he madeוַיַּעַשׂfor the houseלַבָּיִתwindowsחַלּוֹנֵיwith closedאֲטֻמִיםframes.שְׁקֻפִים
And he builtוַיִּבֶןagainstעַלthe wallקִירof the houseהַבַּיִתan annexיָצִיעַall around,סָבִיבagainst the wallsאֶת קִירוֹתof the houseהַבַּיִתall aroundסָבִיבthe templeלַהֵיכָלand the inner sanctuary;וְלַדְּבִירand he madeוַיַּעַשׂside chambersצְלָעוֹתall around.סָבִיב
The lowerהַתַּחְתֹּנָהannexהַיָּצִיעַwas fiveחָמֵשׁcubitsבָּאַמָּהwide,רָחְבָּהּand the middle oneוְהַתִּיכֹנָהsixשֵׁשׁcubitsבָּאַמָּהwide,רָחְבָּהּand the thirdוְהַשְּׁלִישִׁיתsevenשֶׁבַעcubitsבָּאַמָּהwide;רָחְבָּהּforכִּיhe had putנָתַןoffsetsמִגְרָעוֹתon the houseלַבַּיִתall aroundסָבִיבon the outside,חוּצָהso as notלְבִלְתִּיto fastenאֲחֹזinto the wallsבְּקִירוֹתof the house.הַבָּיִת
And the house,וְהַבַּיִתwhen it was built,בְּהִבָּנֹתוֹwas builtנִבְנָהof wholeשְׁלֵמָהstoneאֶבֶןfrom the quarry;מַסָּעand hammerוּמַקָּבוֹתor axe,וְהַגַּרְזֶןanyכָּלtoolכְּלִיof iron,בַרְזֶלwas notלֹאheardנִשְׁמַעin the houseבַּבַּיִתwhile it was being built.בְּהִבָּנֹתוֹ
The entranceפֶּתַחof the middleהַתִּיכֹנָהside chamberהַצֵּלָעwas onאֶלthe rightהַיְמָנִיתsideכֶּתֶףof the house;הַבַּיִתand by spiral stairsוּבְלוּלִּיםthey went upיַעֲלוּtoעַלthe middle one,הַתִּיכֹנָהand fromוּמִןthe middle oneהַתִּיכֹנָהtoאֶלthe third.הַשְּׁלִשִׁים
So he builtוַיִּבֶןthe houseאֶת הַבַּיִתand finished it,וַיְכַלֵּהוּand he roofedוַיִּסְפֹּןthe houseאֶת הַבַּיִתwith coffersגֵּבִיםand rowsוּשְׂדֵרֹתof cedar.בָּאֲרָזִים
And he builtוַיִּבֶןthe annexאֶת הַיָּצִיעַagainstעַלallכָּלthe house,הַבַּיִתfiveחָמֵשׁcubitsאַמּוֹתits height,קוֹמָתוֹand it fastened ontoוַיֶּאֱחֹזthe houseאֶת הַבַּיִתwith timbersבַּעֲצֵיof cedar.אֲרָזִים
And the wordוַ דְּבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameיְהִיtoאֶלSolomon,שְׁלֹמֹהsaying,לֵאמֹר
“As for thisהַזֶּהhouseהַבַּיִתthatאֲשֶׁרyouאַתָּהare building,בֹנֶהifאִםyou walkתֵּלֵךְin my statutesבְּחֻקֹּתַיand put into practiceוְ תַּעֲשֶׂהmy rulesאֶת מִשְׁפָּטַיand keepוְשָׁמַרְתָּallאֶת כָּלmy commandmentsמִצְוֺתַיby walkingלָלֶכֶתin them,בָּהֶםthen I will confirmוַהֲקִמֹתִיmy wordאֶת דְּבָרִיwith youאִתָּךְthatאֲשֶׁרI spokeדִּבַּרְתִּיtoאֶלDavidדָּוִדyour father;אָבִיךָ
and I will dwellוְשָׁכַנְתִּיin the midstבְּתוֹךְof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand I will notוְלֹאabandonאֶעֱזֹבmy peopleאֶת עַמִּיIsrael.”יִשְׂרָאֵל
So Solomonוַ שְׁלֹמֹהbuiltיִּבֶןthe houseאֶת הַבַּיִתand finished it.וַיְכַלֵּהוּ
And he builtוַיִּבֶןthe wallsאֶת קִירוֹתof the houseהַבַּיִתon the insideמִבַּיְתָהwith boardsבְּצַלְעוֹתof cedar;אֲרָזִיםfrom the floorמִקַּרְקַעof the houseהַבַּיִתtoעַדthe wallsקִירוֹתof the ceilingהַסִּפֻּןhe overlaid themצִפָּהwith woodעֵץon the inside;מִבָּיִתand he overlaidוַיְצַףthe floorאֶת קַרְקַעof the houseהַבַּיִתwith boardsבְּצַלְעוֹתof cypress.בְּרוֹשִׁים
And he builtוַיִּבֶןthe twentyאֶת עֶשְׂרִיםcubitsאַמָּהat the rearמִיַּרְכְּתֵיof the houseהַבַּיִתwith boardsבְּצַלְעוֹתof cedarאֲרָזִיםfromמִןthe floorהַקַּרְקַעtoעַדthe walls;הַקִּירוֹתand he built themוַיִּבֶןfor itלוֹon the insideמִבַּיִתas an inner sanctuary,לִדְבִירas the Most Holy Place.לְקֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים
And fortyוְאַרְבָּעִיםcubitsבָּאַמָּהwasהָיָהthe house,הַבָּיִתthat isהוּאthe templeהַהֵיכָלin front.לִפְנָי
And the cedarוְאֶרֶזof the houseאֶל הַבַּיִתinsideפְּנִימָהhad carvingsמִקְלַעַתof gourdsפְּקָעִיםand openוּפְטוּרֵיflowers;צִצִּיםallהַכֹּלwas cedar;אֶרֶזnoאֵיןstoneאֶבֶןwas seen.נִרְאָה
And the inner sanctuaryוּדְבִירin the midstבְּתוֹךְof the houseהַבַּיִתon the insideמִפְּנִימָהhe prepared,הֵכִיןto putלְתִתֵּןthereשָׁםthe arkאֶת אֲרוֹןof the covenantבְּרִיתof YHWH.יְהוָה
And the inner sanctuaryוְלִפְנֵי הַדְּבִירwas twentyעֶשְׂרִיםcubitsאַמָּהlong,אֹרֶךְand twentyוְעֶשְׂרִיםcubitsאַמָּהwide,רֹחַבand twentyוְעֶשְׂרִיםcubitsאַמָּהits height;קוֹמָתוֹand he overlaid itוַיְצַפֵּהוּwith fineסָגוּרgold;זָהָבand he overlaidוַיְצַףan altarמִזְבֵּחַof cedar.אָרֶז
And Solomonוַ שְׁלֹמֹהoverlaidיְצַףthe houseאֶת הַבַּיִתon the insideמִפְּנִימָהwith fineסָגוּרgold;זָהָבand he drewוַיְעַבֵּרchainsבְּרַתּוּקוֹתof goldזָהָבacross the frontלִפְנֵיof the inner sanctuaryהַדְּבִירand overlaid itוַיְצַפֵּהוּwith gold.זָהָב
And the wholeוְאֶת כָּלhouseהַבַּיִתhe overlaidצִפָּהwith gold,זָהָבuntilעַדallכָּלthe houseהַבָּיִתwas finished;תֹּםand the wholeוְכָלaltarהַמִּזְבֵּחַthatאֲשֶׁרbelonged to the inner sanctuaryלַדְּבִירhe overlaidצִפָּהwith gold.זָהָב
And he madeוַיַּעַשׂin the inner sanctuaryבַּדְּבִירtwoשְׁנֵיcherubimכְרוּבִיםof olive wood,עֲצֵי שָׁמֶןtenעֶשֶׂרcubitsאַמּוֹתwas its height.קוֹמָתוֹ
And fiveוְחָמֵשׁcubitsאַמּוֹתwas the oneהָאֶחָתwingכְּנַףof the cherub,הַכְּרוּבand fiveוְחָמֵשׁcubitsאַמּוֹתthe otherהַשֵּׁנִיתwingכְּנַףof the cherub:הַכְּרוּבtenעֶשֶׂרcubitsאַמּוֹתfromמִthe tipקְצוֹתof its wingsכְּנָפָיוtoוְעַדthe tipקְצוֹתof its wings.כְּנָפָיו
And tenוְעֶשֶׂרcubitsבָּאַמָּהwas the secondהַשֵּׁנִיcherub;הַכְּרוּבoneאַחַתmeasureמִדָּהand oneוְ אֶחָדformקֶצֶבhad the twoלִשְׁנֵיcherubim.הַכְּרֻבִים
The heightקוֹמַתof the oneהָאֶחָדcherubהַכְּרוּבwas tenעֶשֶׂרcubits,בָּאַמָּהand soוְכֵןwas that of the secondהַשֵּׁנִיcherub.הַכְּרוּב
And he putוַיִּתֵּןthe cherubimאֶת הַכְּרוּבִיםin the middleבְּתוֹךְof the innerהַפְּנִימִיhouse;הַבַּיִתand the wingsאֶת כַּנְפֵיof the cherubimהַכְּרֻבִיםwere spread out,וַיִּפְרְשׂוּso that the wingוַ כְּנַףof the oneהָאֶחָדtouchedתִּגַּעthe wall,בַּקִּירand the wingוּכְנַףof the secondהַשֵּׁנִיcherubהַכְּרוּבwas touchingנֹגַעַתthe secondהַשֵּׁנִיwall,בַּקִּירand their wingsוְכַנְפֵיהֶםtowardאֶלthe middleתּוֹךְof the houseהַבַּיִתwere touchingנֹגְעֹתwingכָּנָףtoאֶלwing.כָּנָף
And he overlaidוַיְצַףthe cherubimאֶת הַכְּרוּבִיםwith gold.זָהָב
And allוְאֵת כָּלthe wallsקִירוֹתof the houseהַבַּיִתall aroundמֵסַבhe carvedקָלַעwith engravingsפִּתּוּחֵיof carvingsמִקְלְעוֹתof cherubimכְּרוּבִיםand palm treesוְתִמֹרֹתand openוּפְטוּרֵיflowers,צִצִּיםinsideמִלִּפְנִיםand outside.וְלַחִיצוֹן
And the floorוְאֶת קַרְקַעof the houseהַבַּיִתhe overlaidצִפָּהwith gold,זָהָבinsideלִפְנִימָהand outside.וְלַחִיצוֹן
And for the entranceוְאֵת פֶּתַחof the inner sanctuaryהַדְּבִירhe madeעָשָׂהdoorsדַּלְתוֹתof olive wood;עֲצֵי שָׁמֶןthe lintelהָאַיִלand doorpostsמְזוּזוֹתwere five-sided.חֲמִשִׁית
And the twoוּשְׁתֵּיdoorsדַּלְתוֹתwere of olive wood;עֲצֵי שֶׁמֶןand he carvedוְקָלַעon themעֲלֵיהֶםcarvingsמִקְלְעוֹתof cherubimכְּרוּבִיםand palm treesוְתִמֹרוֹתand openוּפְטוּרֵיflowers,צִצִּיםand overlaid themוְצִפָּהwith gold,זָהָבand he spreadוַיָּרֶדthe goldאֶת הַזָּהָבonעַלthe cherubimהַכְּרוּבִיםand onוְעַלthe palm trees.הַתִּמֹרוֹת
And soוְכֵןhe madeעָשָׂהfor the entranceלְפֶתַחof the templeהַהֵיכָלdoorpostsמְזוּזוֹתof olive wood,עֲצֵי שָׁמֶןfour-sided,מֵאֵת רְבִעִית
and twoוּשְׁתֵּיdoorsדַלְתוֹתof cypress wood:עֲצֵי בְרוֹשִׁיםthe twoשְׁנֵיleavesצְלָעִיםof the oneהָאַחַתdoorהַדֶּלֶתwere pivoting,גְּלִילִיםand the twoוּשְׁנֵיleavesקְלָעִיםof the secondהַשֵּׁנִיתdoorהַדֶּלֶתwere pivoting.גְּלִילִים
And he carvedוְקָלַעcherubimכְּרוּבִיםand palm treesוְתִמֹרוֹתand openוּפְטֻרֵיflowers,צִצִּיםand overlaid themוְצִפָּהwith goldזָהָבfittedמְיֻשָּׁרoverעַלwhat was incised.הַמְּחֻקֶּה
And he builtוַיִּבֶןthe innerהַפְּנִימִיתcourtאֶת הֶחָצֵרwith threeשְׁלֹשָׁהrowsטוּרֵיof hewn stoneגָזִיתand a rowוְטוּרof beamsכְּרֻתֹתof cedar.אֲרָזִים
In the fourth yearבַּשָּׁנָה הָרְבִיעִיתthe houseבֵּיתof YHWHיְהוָהwas founded,יֻסַּדin the monthבְּיֶרַחof Ziv;זִו
and in the eleventh year,וּבַשָּׁנָה הָאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵהin the monthבְּיֶרַחof Bul,בּוּלthat isהוּאthe eighthהַשְּׁמִינִיmonth,הַחֹדֶשׁthe houseהַבַּיִתwas finishedכָּלָהin allלְכָלits partsדְּבָרָיוand according to allוּלְכָלits rules.מִשְׁפָּטָיוAnd he built itוַיִּבְנֵהוּin sevenשֶׁבַעyears.שָׁנִים
