Translation note· on the manuscripts

The six lines have the same form (a passive verb and a complement); it can be understood as a hymn or confession. Many manuscripts read “God was revealed.” “Declared righteous”: it can also be understood as “vindicated.” “In the spirit”: the Greek has only pneumati, with no article and no “holy,” set against “in the flesh”; it can also be understood of the Holy Spirit.
