that the citiesוְהֶעָרִיםthatאֲשֶׁרHuramחוּרָםhad givenנָתַןto Solomon,לִשְׁלֹמֹהSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהbuiltבָּנָהthem,אֹתָםand he settledוַיּוֹשֶׁבthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלthere.שָׁם
Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהwentוַיֵּלֶךְto Hamath-zobahחֲמָת צוֹבָהand prevailedוַיֶּחֱזַקagainst it.עָלֶיהָ
He builtוַיִּבֶןTadmorתַּדְמֹרin the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּרand allוְ כָּלthe storageהַמִּסְכְּנוֹתcitiesעָרֵיthatאֲשֶׁרhe builtבָּנָהin Hamath.בַּחֲמָת
He builtוַיִּבֶןUpperהָעֶלְיוֹןBeth-horonבֵּית חוֹרוֹןand Lowerוְ הַתַּחְתּוֹןBeth-horon,בֵּית חוֹרוֹןfortifiedמָצוֹרcitiesעָרֵיwith walls,חוֹמוֹתgates,דְּלָתַיִםand bars,וּבְרִיחַ
and Baalath,וְ בַּעֲלָתand allוְ כָּלthe storageהַמִּסְכְּנוֹתcitiesעָרֵיthatאֲשֶׁרSolomon had,הָיוּ לִשְׁלֹמֹהand allוְ כָּלthe citiesעָרֵיof the chariotsהָרֶכֶבand the citiesוְ עָרֵיof the horsemen,הַפָּרָשִׁיםand allוְ כָּלthe desireחֵשֶׁקof Solomon,שְׁלֹמֹהwhatאֲשֶׁרhe desiredחָשַׁקto buildלִבְנוֹתin Jerusalem,בִּירוּשָׁלִַםin Lebanon,וּבַלְּבָנוֹןand in allוּבְכֹלthe landאֶרֶץof his dominion.מֶמְשַׁלְתּוֹ
Allכָּלthe peopleהָעָםwho were leftהַנּוֹתָרofמִןthe Hittite,הַחִתִּיthe Amorite,וְהָאֱמֹרִיthe Perizzite,וְהַפְּרִזִּיthe Hivite,וְהַחִוִּיand the Jebusite,וְהַיְבוּסִיwhoאֲשֶׁר הֵמָּהwere notלֹאof Israel,מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל
of their sonsמִן בְּנֵיהֶםwhoאֲשֶׁרwere leftנוֹתְרוּafter themאַחֲרֵיהֶםin the land,בָּאָרֶץwhomאֲשֶׁרthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלhad notלֹאmade an end of,כִלּוּםSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהraised them upוַיַּעֲלֵםfor forced labor,לְמַסtoעַדthisהַזֶּהday.הַיּוֹם
But of the sonsוּמִן בְּנֵיof IsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהdid notאֲשֶׁר לֹאmakeנָתַןslavesלַעֲבָדִיםfor his work,לִמְלַאכְתּוֹforכִּיtheyהֵמָּהwere menאַנְשֵׁיof war,מִלְחָמָהcommandersוְשָׂרֵיof his captains,שָׁלִישָׁיוand commandersוְשָׂרֵיof his chariotsרִכְבּוֹand of his horsemen.וּפָרָשָׁיו
Theseוְאֵלֶּהwere the chiefsשָׂרֵיof the prefectsהַנִּצָּבִיםthatאֲשֶׁרKingלַמֶּלֶךְSolomon had:שְׁלֹמֹהtwo hundredמָאתָיִםand fifty,חֲמִשִּׁים וּwho ruledהָרֹדִיםover the people.בָּעָם
Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהbrought upהֶעֱלָהthe daughterוְאֶת בַּתof Pharaohפַּרְעֹהfrom the cityמֵעִירof Davidדָּוִידto the houseלַבַּיִתthatאֲשֶׁרhe had builtבָּנָהfor her,לָהּforכִּיhe said,אָמַר“Noלֹאwifeאִשָּׁהof mineלִיshall liveתֵשֵׁבin the houseבְּבֵיתof Davidדָּוִידkingמֶלֶךְof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלforכִּיthe placesto whichאֲשֶׁר אֲלֵיהֶםthe arkאֲרוֹןof YHWHיְהוָהhas comeבָּאָהareהֵמָּהholy.”קֹדֶשׁ
ThenאָזSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהoffered upהֶעֱלָהburnt offeringsעֹלוֹתto YHWHלַיהוָהonעַלthe altarמִזְבַּחof YHWHיְהוָהthatאֲשֶׁרhe had builtבָּנָהbeforeלִפְנֵיthe portico,הָאוּלָם
according to what was dueוּבִדְבַרeach day,יוֹם בְּיוֹםoffering upלְהַעֲלוֹתaccording to the commandmentכְּמִצְוַתof Moses,מֹשֶׁהon the Sabbaths,לַשַּׁבָּתוֹתat the new moons,וְלֶחֳדָשִׁיםand at the appointed times,וְלַמּוֹעֲדוֹתthreeשָׁלוֹשׁtimesפְּעָמִיםa year:בַּשָּׁנָהat the Feastבְּחַגof Unleavened Bread,הַמַּצּוֹתat the Feastוּבְחַגof Weeks,הַשָּׁבֻעוֹתand at the Feastוּבְחַגof Booths.הַסֻּכּוֹת
According to the ruleכְּמִשְׁפַּטof Davidדָּוִידhis fatherאָבִיוhe appointedוַיַּעֲמֵדthe divisionsמַחְלְקוֹתof the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםforעַלtheir service,עֲבֹדָתָםand the Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּםforעַלtheir posts,מִשְׁמְרוֹתָםto praiseלְהַלֵּלand to ministerוּלְשָׁרֵתin front ofנֶגֶדthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםaccording to what was dueלִדְבַרeach day,יוֹם בְּיוֹמוֹand the gatekeepersוְהַשּׁוֹעֲרִיםin their divisionsבְּמַחְלְקוֹתָםfor gateלְשַׁעַרby gate,וָשָׁעַרforכִּיsoכֵןwas the commandmentמִצְוַתof David,דָּוִידthe manאִישׁof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִים
They did notוְלֹאturn asideסָרוּfrom the commandmentמִצְוַתof the kingהַמֶּלֶךְconcerningעַלthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםand the Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּםin anyלְכָלmatter,דָּבָרor concerningוְלָthe treasuries.אֹצָרוֹת
Allכָּלthe workמְלֶאכֶתof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהwas preparedוַתִּכֹּןuntilעַדthe dayהַיּוֹםof the foundationמוּסַדof the houseבֵּיתof YHWHיְהוָהand untilוְעַדit was finished;כְּלֹתוֹthe houseבֵּיתof YHWHיְהוָהwas complete.שָׁלֵם
ThenאָזSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהwentהָלַךְto Ezion-geberלְעֶצְיוֹן גֶּבֶרand toוְאֶלEloth,אֵילוֹתonעַלthe shoreשְׂפַתof the seaהַיָּםin the landבְּאֶרֶץof Edom.אֱדוֹם
Huramחוּרָםsentוַיִּשְׁלַחhim,לוֹby the handבְּיַדof his servants,עֲבָדָיוshipsאֳנִיּוֹתand servantsוַעֲבָדִיםwho knewיוֹדְעֵיthe sea;יָםand they wentוַיָּבֹאוּwithעִםthe servantsעַבְדֵיof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהto Ophir,אוֹפִירָהand tookוַיִּקְחוּfrom thereמִשָּׁםfourאַרְבַּעhundredמֵאוֹתand fiftyוַחֲמִשִּׁיםtalentsכִּכַּרof gold,זָהָבand brought themוַיָּבִיאוּtoאֶלKingהַמֶּלֶךְSolomon.שְׁלֹמֹה
