YHWHיְהוָהyehva

YHWH

The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

The name of his mother was Jerusha daughter of Zadok. 34He did what was right in the eyes of YHWH; he did according to all that Uzziah his father had done. 35Only the high places did not go away; the people were still sacrificing and burning incense on the high places. 2 Chronicles 27:1-9

1Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Jerushah daughter of Zadok. 2He did what was right in the eyes of YHWH, according to all that Uzziah his father had done; only he did not enter into the temple of YHWH. But the people were still acting corruptly. 3He built the upper gate of the house of YHWH, and on the wall of the Ophel he built much. 4He built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers. 5He fought with the king of the sons of Ammon and prevailed against them, and the sons of Ammon gave him in that year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat and of barley ten thousand. This the sons of Ammon paid him also in the second year and the third. 6Jotham grew strong, because he made firm his ways before YHWH his Elohim. 7The rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars and his ways, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. 8He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. 9Jotham lay down with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
