Soδὲthe twelveοἱ δώδεκαsummonedπροσκαλεσάμενοιthe multitudeτὸ πλῆθοςof the disciplesτῶν μαθητῶνand said,εἶπαν“It isἐστινnotΟὐκdesirableἀρεστόνfor usἡμᾶςto neglectκαταλείψανταςthe wordτὸν λόγονof Godτοῦ θεοῦin order to serveδιακονεῖνtables.τραπέζαις
So,δέbrothers,ἀδελφοίselectἐπισκέψασθεfrom amongἐξyouὑμῶνsevenἑπτὰmenἄνδραςof good testimony,μαρτυρουμένουςfullπλήρειςof the Spiritπνεύματοςandκαὶof wisdom,σοφίαςwhomοὓςwe will appointκαταστήσομενoverἐπὶthisτῆς ταύτηςtask;χρείας
butδὲweἡμεῖςwill devote ourselvesπροσκαρτερήσομενto prayerτῇ προσευχῇandκαὶto the serviceτῇ διακονίᾳof the word.”τοῦ λόγου

whomοὓςthey setἔστησανbeforeἐνώπιονthe apostles;τῶν ἀποστόλωνandκαὶafter praying,προσευξάμενοιthey laidἐπέθηκανtheir handsτὰς χεῖραςon them.αὐτοῖς
AndΚαὶthe wordὁ λόγοςof Godτοῦ θεοῦkept growing,ηὔξανενandκαὶthe numberὁ ἀριθμὸςof the disciplesτῶν μαθητῶνinἐνJerusalemἸερουσαλὴμwas multiplyingἐπληθύνετοgreatly,σφόδραandτεa greatπολύςcrowdὄχλοςof the priestsτῶν ἱερέωνwere obeyingὑπήκουονthe faith.τῇ πίστει

Butδέsomeτινεςof thoseτῶνfromἐκthe synagogueτῆς συναγωγῆςcalledτῆς λεγομένηςthat of the FreedmenΛιβερτίνωνandκαὶof CyreniansΚυρηναίωνandκαὶof Alexandrians,Ἀλεξανδρέωνandκαὶof thoseτῶνfromἀπὸCiliciaΚιλικίαςandκαὶAsia,Ἀσίαςrose up,ἀνέστησανarguingσυζητοῦντεςwith Stephen.τῷ Στεφάνῳ
Andκαὶthey were notοὐκableἴσχυονto resistἀντιστῆναιthe wisdomτῇ σοφίᾳandκαὶthe Spiritτῷ πνεύματιby whomᾧhe was speaking.ἐλάλει
Thenτότεthey secretly inducedὑπέβαλονmenἄνδραςto say,λέγοντας“We have heardἈκηκόαμενhimαὐτοῦspeakingλαλοῦντοςblasphemousβλάσφημαwordsῥήματαagainstεἰςMosesΜωϋσῆνandκαὶGod.”τὸν θεόν
Andτεthey stirred upσυνεκίνησάνthe peopleτὸν λαὸνandκαὶthe eldersτοὺς πρεσβυτέρουςandκαὶthe scribes,τοὺς γραμματεῖςandκαὶcoming upon him,ἐπιστάντεςthey seizedσυνήρπασανhimαὐτὸνandκαὶbrought himἤγαγονtoεἰςthe council,τὸ συνέδριον
andτεthey set upἔστησάνfalseψευδεῖςwitnessesμάρτυραςwho said,λέγοντας“ThisὉ οὗτοςmanἄνθρωποςdoes notοὐstopπαύεταιspeakingλαλῶνwordsῥήματαagainstκατὰthe holyτοῦ τοῦ ἁγίουplaceτόπουandκαὶthe law;τοῦ νόμου
forγὰρwe have heardἀκηκόαμενhimαὐτοῦsayλέγοντοςthatὅτιthisοὗτοςJesusἸησοῦςthe Nazareneὁ Ναζωραῖοςwill destroyκαταλύσειthisτὸν τοῦτονplaceτόπονandκαὶchangeἀλλάξειthe customsτὰ ἔθηthatἃMosesΜωϋσῆςhanded downπαρέδωκενto us.”ἡμῖν
Andκαὶlooking intentlyἀτενίσαντεςatεἰςhim,αὐτὸνallπάντεςwho were sittingοἱ καθεζόμενοιinἐνthe councilτῷ συνεδρίῳsawεἶδονhisαὐτοῦfaceτὸ πρόσωπονlikeὡσεὶthe faceπρόσωπονof an angel.ἀγγέλου
