Deuteronomy 13:4, word by word
- YHWHיְהוָהyehva
YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

The context
3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer of dreams, for YHWH your Elohim is testing you to know whether you love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 · This verse (above)
5But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken turning aside against YHWH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slaves, to drag you away from the way in which YHWH your Elohim commanded you to walk. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
