YHWH

The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

The context

7From the days of our fathers we have been in great guilt until this day; and for our iniquities we have been given, our kings, and our priests, into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to plunder, and to shame of face, as at this day.

8 · This verse (above)

9For we are slaves, yet in our servitude our Elohim has not forsaken us, but he extended to us loyal love before the kings of Persia, to give us life, to raise up the house of our Elohim and to set up its ruins, and to give us a fence in Judah and in Jerusalem.
