YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Translation note
“Beth-aven”: “house of wickedness” (aven). It can be understood as a mocking name for Bethel, “house of El” (compare 10:5, 15).

Gilgal ?
Today: disputed; near Jericho, West Bank
A place near Jericho in the Jordan valley; the exact site is not certain.
Israel camped there after crossing the Jordan and set up twelve stones (Josh 4:19-20). Saul was confirmed as king there (1 Sam 11:15).
The context
14I will not call your daughters to account when they prostitute themselves, or your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery; for they themselves go aside with prostitutes and sacrifice with sacred prostitutes; and a people that does not understand will come to ruin.
