YHWH

The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Revelation 1:17; 2:8 and 22:13 take up “the first and the last.”

The context

5This one will say, ‘I belong to YHWH’; and that one will call himself by the name of Jacob; and another will write on his hand, ‘To YHWH,’ and with the name of Israel will surname himself.”

6 · This verse (above)

7And who is like me? Let him call out, and declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people; and the things that are coming, and what will come, let them declare it to them.
