Go to Hebrews 13:11-12

Hebrews recalls that the bodies of the animals whose blood was brought into the Holy Place were burned outside the camp (Leviticus 16:27), and connects with this the fact that Jesus suffered outside the gate.

The biblical author himself makes the connection, in these words:

διὸ καὶ Ἰησοῦς ἵνα ἁγιάσῃ διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος τὸν λαόν ἔξω τῆς πύλης ἔπαθεν “Therefore Jesus also, in order to sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered outside the gate” (Hebrews 13:12)
