AndוַYHWHיְהוָהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“Speakדַּבֵּרto Aaronאֶל אַהֲרֹןand to his sonsוְאֶל בָּנָיוand to allוְאֶל כָּלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand sayוְאָמַרְתָּto them:אֲלֵיהֶםThis isזֶהthe wordהַדָּבָרthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas commanded,צִוָּהsaying:לֵאמֹר
Any manאִישׁ אִישׁof the houseמִבֵּיתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלwhoאֲשֶׁרslaughtersיִשְׁחַטan oxשׁוֹרorאוֹa lambכֶשֶׂבorאוֹa goatעֵזin the camp,בַּמַּחֲנֶהorאוֹwhoאֲשֶׁרslaughters itיִשְׁחַטoutsideמִחוּץthe camp,לַמַּחֲנֶה
and does notוְ לֹאbring itהֱבִיאוֹtoאֶלthe entranceפֶּתַחof the tentאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדto presentלְהַקְרִיבan offeringקָרְבָּןto YHWHלַיהוָהbeforeלִפְנֵיthe dwellingמִשְׁכַּןof YHWH,יְהוָהbloodדָּםshall be countedיֵחָשֵׁבto thatלָ הַהוּאman:אִישׁhe has shedשָׁפָךְblood,דָּםand thatוְ הַהוּאmanהָאִישׁshall be cut offנִכְרַתfrom amongמִקֶּרֶבhis people.עַמּוֹ
This is so thatלְמַעַן אֲשֶׁרthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלbringיָבִיאוּtheir sacrificesאֶת זִבְחֵיהֶםthatאֲשֶׁרtheyהֵםare sacrificingזֹבְחִיםinעַל פְּנֵיthe open field,הַשָּׂדֶהthat they bring themוֶהֱבִיאֻםto YHWH,לַיהוָהtoאֶלthe entranceפֶּתַחof the tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדtoאֶלthe priest,הַכֹּהֵןand sacrificeוְזָבְחוּthemאוֹתָםas sacrificesזִבְחֵיof peaceשְׁלָמִיםto YHWH.לַיהוָה
And the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall splashזָרַקthe bloodאֶת הַדָּםonעַלthe altarמִזְבַּחof YHWHיְהוָהat the entranceפֶּתַחof the tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדand offer up in smokeוְהִקְטִירthe fatהַחֵלֶבfor a pleasingלְ נִיחֹחַaromaרֵיחַto YHWH.לַיהוָה
So they shall noוְלֹאlongerעוֹדsacrificeיִזְבְּחוּtheir sacrificesאֶת זִבְחֵיהֶםto the goatsלַשְּׂעִירִםafterאַחֲרֵיהֶםwhichאֲשֶׁרtheyהֵםprostitute themselves.זֹנִיםThisזֹּאתshall beתִּהְיֶהa statuteחֻקַּתforeverעוֹלָםfor themלָהֶםthroughout their generations.לְדֹרֹתָם
And you shall sayוַ תֹּאמַרto them:אֲלֵהֶםAny manאִישׁ אִישׁof the houseמִבֵּיתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלorוּofמִןthe resident aliensהַגֵּרwhoאֲשֶׁרresideיָגוּרamong them,בְּתוֹכָםwhoאֲשֶׁרoffers upיַעֲלֶהa burnt offeringעֹלָהorאוֹa sacrifice,זָבַח
and does notוְ לֹאbring itיְבִיאֶנּוּtoאֶלthe entranceפֶּתַחof the tentאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדto offerלַעֲשׂוֹתitאֹתוֹto YHWH,לַיהוָהthatוְ הַהוּאmanהָאִישׁshall be cut offנִכְרַתfrom his people.מֵעַמָּיו
And any manוְאִישׁ אִישׁof the houseמִבֵּיתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלorוּofמִןthe resident aliensהַגֵּרwho resideהַגָּרamong them,בְּתוֹכָםwhoאֲשֶׁרeatsיֹאכַלanyכָּלblood,דָּםI will setוְנָתַתִּיmy faceפָנַיagainst the personבַּנֶּפֶשׁwho eatsהָאֹכֶלֶתthe blood,אֶת הַדָּםand I will cutוְהִכְרַתִּיthat personאֹתָהּoff from amongמִקֶּרֶבtheir people.עַמָּהּ
Forכִּיthe lifeנֶפֶשׁof the fleshהַבָּשָׂרisהִואin the blood,בַּדָּםand Iוַאֲנִיhave given itנְתַתִּיוto youלָכֶםonעַלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַto make expiationלְכַפֵּרforעַלyour lives;נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםforכִּיit is the bloodהַדָּם הוּאthat makes expiationיְכַפֵּרby means of the life.בַּנֶּפֶשׁ
Thereforeעַל כֵּןI have saidאָמַרְתִּיto the sonsלִבְנֵיof Israel:יִשְׂרָאֵלNoלֹאpersonכָּל נֶפֶשׁamong youמִכֶּםshall eatתֹאכַלblood,דָּםand the resident alienוְהַגֵּרwho residesהַגָּרamong youבְּתוֹכְכֶםshall notלֹאeatיֹאכַלblood.דָּם
And any manוְאִישׁ אִישׁof the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלorוּofמִןthe resident aliensהַגֵּרwho resideהַגָּרamong them,בְּתוֹכָםwhoאֲשֶׁרhuntsיָצוּדgame,צֵידan animalחַיָּהorאוֹa birdעוֹףthatאֲשֶׁרmay be eaten,יֵאָכֵלshall pour outוְשָׁפַךְits bloodאֶת דָּמוֹand coverוְכִסָּitהוּwith dust.בֶּעָפָר
Forכִּיthe lifeנֶפֶשׁof allכָּלflesh,בָּשָׂרits bloodדָּמוֹisהוּאin its life;בְנַפְשׁוֹso I have saidוָאֹמַרto the sonsלִבְנֵיof Israel:יִשְׂרָאֵלYou shall notלֹאeatתֹאכֵלוּthe bloodדַּםof anyכָּלflesh,בָּשָׂרforכִּיthe lifeנֶפֶשׁof allכָּלfleshבָּשָׂרisהִואits blood;דָּמוֹwhoeverכָּלeats itאֹכְלָיוshall be cut off.יִכָּרֵת
And anyוְכָלpersonנֶפֶשׁwhoאֲשֶׁרeatsתֹּאכַלan animal that diedנְבֵלָהor one torn by beasts,וּטְרֵפָהwhether nativeבָּאֶזְרָחorוּresident alien,בַגֵּרshall washוְכִבֶּסhis garmentsבְּגָדָיוand batheוְרָחַץin waterבַּמַּיִםand be uncleanוְטָמֵאuntilעַדthe evening;הָעֶרֶבthen he shall be clean.וְטָהֵר
But ifוְאִםhe does notלֹאwash themיְכַבֵּסor batheוּ לֹא יִרְחָץhis body,בְשָׂרוֹhe shall bearוְנָשָׂאhis iniquity.”עֲוֺנוֹ
