AndוַYHWHיְהוָהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Mosesאֶל מֹשֶׁהafterאַחֲרֵיthe deathמוֹתof the twoשְׁנֵיsonsבְּנֵיof Aaron,אַהֲרֹןwhen they drew nearבְּקָרְבָתָםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהand died.וַיָּמֻתוּ
AndוַYHWHיְהוָהsaidיֹּאמֶרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁה“TellדַּבֵּרAaronאֶל אַהֲרֹןyour brotherאָחִיךָthat he is notוְאַלto comeיָבֹאat anyבְכָלtimeעֵתintoאֶלthe Holy Placeהַקֹּדֶשׁinsideמִבֵּיתthe veil,לַפָּרֹכֶתin front ofאֶל פְּנֵיthe cover of expiationהַכַּפֹּרֶתthat isאֲשֶׁרonעַלthe ark,הָאָרֹןso that he does notוְלֹאdie;יָמוּתforכִּיin the cloudבֶּעָנָןI will appearאֵרָאֶהoverעַלthe cover of expiation.הַכַּפֹּרֶת
With thisבְּזֹאתAaronאַהֲרֹןshall comeיָבֹאintoאֶלthe Holy Place:הַקֹּדֶשׁwith a youngבְּפַר בֶּןbullבָּקָרfor a sin offeringלְחַטָּאתand a ramוְאַיִלfor a burnt offering.לְעֹלָה
He shall put onיִלְבָּשׁa holyקֹדֶשׁlinenבַּדtunic,כְּתֹנֶתand linenבַדundergarmentsוּמִכְנְסֵיshall beיִהְיוּonעַלhis body,בְּשָׂרוֹand he shall tieוּ יַחְגֹּרa linenבַּדsash around him,בְאַבְנֵטand wrap his headוּ יִצְנֹףwith a linenבַּדturban;בְמִצְנֶפֶתtheyהֵםare holyקֹדֶשׁgarments.בִּגְדֵיHe shall batheוְרָחַץhis bodyאֶת בְּשָׂרוֹin waterבַּמַּיִםand put them on.וּלְבֵשָׁם
And fromוּמֵאֵתthe communityעֲדַתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלhe shall takeיִקַּחtwoשְׁנֵיmale goatsשְׂעִירֵי עִזִּיםfor a sin offeringלְחַטָּאתand oneוְ אֶחָדramאַיִלfor a burnt offering.לְעֹלָה
And Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall presentהִקְרִיבthe bullאֶת פַּרof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתthat isאֲשֶׁרfor himselfלוֹand make expiationוְכִפֶּרfor himselfבַּעֲדוֹand forוּבְעַדhis house.בֵּיתוֹ
And he shall takeוְלָקַחthe twoאֶת שְׁנֵיgoatsהַשְּׂעִירִםand setוְהֶעֱמִידthemאֹתָםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהat the entranceפֶּתַחof the tentאֹהֶלof meeting.מוֹעֵד
And Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall castנָתַןlotsגּוֹרָלוֹתoverעַלthe twoשְׁנֵיgoats,הַשְּׂעִירִםoneאֶחָדlotגּוֹרָלfor YHWHלַיהוָהand the otherוְ אֶחָדlotגוֹרָלfor Azazel.לַעֲזָאזֵל
And Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall presentהִקְרִיבthe goatאֶת הַשָּׂעִירon whichאֲשֶׁר עָלָיוthe lotהַגּוֹרָלfor YHWHלַיהוָהfellעָלָהand offer itוְעָשָׂהוּas a sin offering.חַטָּאת
But the goatוְהַשָּׂעִירon whichאֲשֶׁר עָלָיוthe lotהַגּוֹרָלfor Azazelלַעֲזָאזֵלfellעָלָהshall be setיָעֳמַדaliveחַיbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהto make expiationלְכַפֵּרover it,עָלָיוto sendלְשַׁלַּחitאֹתוֹaway to Azazelלַעֲזָאזֵלinto the wilderness.הַמִּדְבָּרָה
And Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall presentהִקְרִיבthe bullאֶת פַּרof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתthat isאֲשֶׁרfor himselfלוֹand make expiationוְכִפֶּרfor himselfבַּעֲדוֹand forוּבְעַדhis house,בֵּיתוֹand he shall slaughterוְשָׁחַטthe bullאֶת פַּרof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתthat isאֲשֶׁרfor himself.לוֹ
And he shall takeוְלָקַחa fullמְלֹאcenserהַמַּחְתָּהof coalsגַּחֲלֵיof fireאֵשׁfromמֵעַלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַbeforeמִלִּפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהand two handfulsוּמְלֹא חָפְנָיוof fineדַּקָּהfragrantסַמִּיםincense,קְטֹרֶתand bring itוְהֵבִיאinsideמִבֵּיתthe veil.לַפָּרֹכֶת
And he shall putוְנָתַןthe incenseאֶת הַקְּטֹרֶתonעַלthe fireהָאֵשׁbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהand the cloudוְ עֲנַןof the incenseהַקְּטֹרֶתshall coverכִסָּהthe cover of expiationאֶת הַכַּפֹּרֶתthat isאֲשֶׁרoverעַלthe testimony,הָעֵדוּתso that he does notוְלֹאdie.יָמוּת
And he shall takeוְלָקַחsome of the bloodמִדַּםof the bullהַפָּרand sprinkle itוְהִזָּהwith his fingerבְאֶצְבָּעוֹonעַלthe frontפְּנֵיof the cover of expiationהַכַּפֹּרֶתon the east side,קֵדְמָהand in frontוְלִפְנֵיof the cover of expiationהַכַּפֹּרֶתhe shall sprinkleיַזֶּהsome ofמִןthe bloodהַדָּםwith his fingerבְּאֶצְבָּעוֹsevenשֶׁבַעtimes.פְּעָמִים
Then he shall slaughterוְשָׁחַטthe goatאֶת שְׂעִירof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתthat isאֲשֶׁרfor the peopleלָעָםand bringוְהֵבִיאits bloodאֶת דָּמוֹinsideאֶל מִבֵּיתthe veil,לַפָּרֹכֶתand doוְעָשָׂהwith its bloodאֶת דָּמוֹasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe didעָשָׂהwith the bloodלְדַםof the bull,הַפָּרand sprinkleוְהִזָּהitאֹתוֹonעַלthe cover of expiationהַכַּפֹּרֶתand in frontוְלִפְנֵיof the cover of expiation.הַכַּפֹּרֶת
So he shall make expiationוְכִפֶּרforעַלthe Holy Placeהַקֹּדֶשׁbecause of the uncleannessמִטֻּמְאֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלand because of their transgressions,וּמִפִּשְׁעֵיהֶםfor allלְכָלtheir sins;חַטֹּאתָםand soוְכֵןhe shall doיַעֲשֶׂהfor the tentלְאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדwhich dwellsהַשֹּׁכֵןwith themאִתָּםin the midstבְּתוֹךְof their uncleanness.טֻמְאֹתָם
And noוְ לֹאoneכָל אָדָםshall beיִהְיֶהin the tentבְּאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדwhen he goes inבְּבֹאוֹto make expiationלְכַפֵּרin the Holy Placeבַּקֹּדֶשׁuntilעַדhe comes out.צֵאתוֹAnd he shall make expiationוְכִפֶּרfor himselfבַּעֲדוֹand forוּבְעַדhis houseבֵּיתוֹand forוּבְעַדallכָּלthe assemblyקְהַלof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
Then he shall go outוְיָצָאtoאֶלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַthat isאֲשֶׁרbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהand make expiationוְכִפֶּרfor it,עָלָיוand he shall takeוְלָקַחsome of the bloodמִדַּםof the bullהַפָּרand some of the bloodוּמִדַּםof the goatהַשָּׂעִירand put itוְנָתַןonעַלthe hornsקַרְנוֹתof the altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַall around.סָבִיב
And he shall sprinkleוְהִזָּהon itעָלָיוsome ofמִןthe bloodהַדָּםwith his fingerבְּאֶצְבָּעוֹsevenשֶׁבַעtimesפְּעָמִיםand cleanseוְטִהֲרitוֹand sanctifyוְקִדְּשׁitוֹfrom the uncleannessמִטֻּמְאֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
And when he has finishedוְכִלָּהmaking expiation forמִכַּפֵּרthe Holy Placeאֶת הַקֹּדֶשׁandוְthe tentאֶת אֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדandוְthe altar,אֶת הַמִּזְבֵּחַhe shall presentוְהִקְרִיבthe liveהֶחָיgoat.אֶת הַשָּׂעִיר
And Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall layסָמַךְbothשְׁתֵּיhis handsאֶת יָדָיוonעַלthe headרֹאשׁof the liveהַחַיgoatהַשָּׂעִירand confessוְהִתְוַדָּהover itעָלָיוallאֶת כָּלthe iniquitiesעֲוֺנֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלand allוְאֶת כָּלtheir transgressions,פִּשְׁעֵיהֶםfor allלְכָלtheir sins;חַטֹּאתָםand he shall putוְנָתַןthemאֹתָםonעַלthe headרֹאשׁof the goatהַשָּׂעִירand send it awayוְשִׁלַּחinto the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּרָהby the handבְּיַדof a manאִישׁwho is ready.עִתִּי
And the goatוְ הַשָּׂעִירshall carryנָשָׂאon itselfעָלָיוallאֶת כָּלtheir iniquitiesעֲוֺנֹתָםtoאֶלa landאֶרֶץcut off;גְּזֵרָהand he shall letוְשִׁלַּחthe goatאֶת הַשָּׂעִירgoשִׁלַּחin the wilderness.בַּמִּדְבָּר
Then Aaronוּ אַהֲרֹןshall comeבָאintoאֶלthe tentאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדand take offוּפָשַׁטthe linenהַבָּדgarmentsאֶת בִּגְדֵיthatאֲשֶׁרhe put onלָבַשׁwhen he wentבְּבֹאוֹintoאֶלthe Holy Place,הַקֹּדֶשׁand leaveוְהִנִּיחָthemםthere.שָׁם
And he shall batheוְרָחַץhis bodyאֶת בְּשָׂרוֹin waterבַמַּיִםin a holyבְּ קָדוֹשׁplaceמָקוֹםand put onוְלָבַשׁhis garments,אֶת בְּגָדָיוand come outוְיָצָאand offerוְעָשָׂהhis burnt offeringאֶת עֹלָתוֹand the burnt offeringוְאֶת עֹלַתof the people,הָעָםand make expiationוְכִפֶּרfor himselfבַּעֲדוֹand forוּבְעַדthe people.הָעָם
And the fatוְאֵת חֵלֶבof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתhe shall offer up in smokeיַקְטִירon the altar.הַמִּזְבֵּחָה
And the one who sends awayוְהַמְשַׁלֵּחַthe goatאֶת הַשָּׂעִירto Azazelלַעֲזָאזֵלshall washיְכַבֵּסhis garmentsבְּגָדָיוand batheוְרָחַץhis bodyאֶת בְּשָׂרוֹin water,בַּמָּיִםand afterוְאַחֲרֵיthatכֵןhe may comeיָבוֹאintoאֶלthe camp.הַמַּחֲנֶה
And the bullוְאֵת פַּרof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתandוְאֵתthe goatשְׂעִירof the sin offering,הַחַטָּאתwhoseאֲשֶׁר אֶתbloodדָּמָםwas broughtהוּבָאin to make expiationלְכַפֵּרin the Holy Place,בַּקֹּדֶשׁsomeone shall take outיוֹצִיאtoאֶלoutsideמִחוּץthe camp,לַמַּחֲנֶהand they shall burnוְשָׂרְפוּin the fireבָאֵשׁtheir skinsאֶת עֹרֹתָםand their fleshוְאֶת בְּשָׂרָםand their dung.וְאֶת פִּרְשָׁם
And the one who burnsוְהַשֹּׂרֵףthemאֹתָםshall washיְכַבֵּסhis garmentsבְּגָדָיוand batheוְרָחַץhis bodyאֶת בְּשָׂרוֹin water,בַּמָּיִםand afterוְאַחֲרֵיthatכֵןhe may comeיָבוֹאintoאֶלthe camp.הַמַּחֲנֶה
And this shall beוְהָיְתָהfor youלָכֶםa statuteלְחֻקַּתforever:עוֹלָםin the seventhבַּ הַשְּׁבִיעִיmonth,חֹדֶשׁon the tenth dayבֶּעָשׂוֹרof the month,לַחֹדֶשׁyou shall afflictתְּעַנּוּyour soulsאֶת נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםand doתַעֲשׂוּnoלֹאworkוְכָל מְלָאכָהthe nativeהָאֶזְרָחorוְthe resident alienהַגֵּרwho residesהַגָּרamong you.בְּתוֹכְכֶם
Forכִּיon this dayבַיּוֹם הַזֶּהexpiation shall be madeיְכַפֵּרfor youעֲלֵיכֶםto cleanseלְטַהֵרyou;אֶתְכֶםfrom allמִכֹּלyour sinsחַטֹּאתֵיכֶםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהyou shall be clean.תִּטְהָרוּ
Itהִיאis a Sabbathשַׁבַּתof solemn restשַׁבָּתוֹןfor you,לָכֶםand you shall afflictוְעִנִּיתֶםyour souls;אֶת נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםit is a statuteחֻקַּתforever.עוֹלָם
And the priestהַכֹּהֵןwhoאֲשֶׁרis anointedיִמְשַׁח אֹתוֹandוַאֲשֶׁרordainedיְמַלֵּא אֶת יָדוֹto serve as priestלְכַהֵןin place ofתַּחַתhis fatherאָבִיוshall make expiation;וְכִפֶּרhe shall put onוְלָבַשׁthe linenהַבָּדgarments,אֶת בִּגְדֵיthe holyהַקֹּדֶשׁgarments.בִּגְדֵי
He shall make expiation forוְכִפֶּרthe holyהַקֹּדֶשׁsanctuary,אֶת מִקְדַּשׁandוְfor the tentאֶת אֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדandוְאֶתthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַhe shall make expiation,יְכַפֵּרand forוְעַלthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםand forוְעַלallכָּלthe peopleעַםof the assemblyהַקָּהָלhe shall make expiation.יְכַפֵּר
And this shall beוְהָיְתָה זֹּאתfor youלָכֶםa statuteלְחֻקַּתforever,עוֹלָםto make expiationלְכַפֵּרforעַלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלfor allמִכָּלtheir sinsחַטֹּאתָםonceאַחַתin the year.”בַּשָּׁנָהAnd Aaron didוַיַּעַשׂasכַּאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhad commandedצִוָּהMoses.אֶת מֹשֶׁה
