YHWH

The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Translation note

“Most holy thing”: only the priests could eat it, and in a holy place (Leviticus 6:16-18).

The context

2He shall bring it to the sons of Aaron, the priests, and he shall take from there his full handful of its fine flour and of its oil, with all its frankincense, and the priest shall offer up in smoke its memorial portion on the altar, a fire offering, a pleasing aroma to YHWH.

3 · This verse (above)

4When you present a grain offering baked in an oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers smeared with oil.
