And YHWHוַ יְהוָהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“Speakדַּבֵּרto Aaronאֶל אַהֲרֹןand sayוְאָמַרְתָּto him,אֵלָיו‘When you lightבְּהַעֲלֹתְךָthe lamps,אֶת הַנֵּרֹתthe sevenשִׁבְעַתlampsהַנֵּרוֹתshall give lightיָאִירוּtoward the frontאֶל מוּל פְּנֵיof the lampstand.’”הַמְּנוֹרָה
And Aaronוַ אַהֲרֹןdidיַּעַשׂso:כֵּןhe litהֶעֱלָהits lampsנֵרֹתֶיהָtoward the frontאֶל מוּל פְּנֵיof the lampstand,הַמְּנוֹרָהasכַּאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhad commandedצִוָּהMoses.אֶת מֹשֶׁה
And this wasוְזֶהthe workmanshipמַעֲשֵׂהof the lampstand:הַמְּנֹרָהhammered workמִקְשָׁהof gold;זָהָבfromעַדits baseיְרֵכָהּtoעַדits blossomsפִּרְחָהּitהִואwas hammered work.מִקְשָׁהAccording to the visionכַּמַּרְאֶהthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhad shownהֶרְאָהMoses,אֶת מֹשֶׁהsoכֵּןhe madeעָשָׂהthe lampstand.אֶת הַמְּנֹרָה
And YHWHוַ יְהוָהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“Takeקַחthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםfrom amongמִתּוֹךְthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלand cleanseוְטִהַרְתָּthem.אֹתָם
And thusוְכֹהyou shall doתַעֲשֶׂהto themלָהֶםto cleanse them:לְטַהֲרָםsprinkleהַזֵּהon themעֲלֵיהֶםthe waterמֵיof purification,חַטָּאתand they shall passוְהֶעֱבִירוּa razorתַעַרoverעַלtheir wholeכָּלbody,בְּשָׂרָםand washוְכִבְּסוּtheir clothes,בִגְדֵיהֶםand cleanse themselves.וְהִטֶּהָרוּ
Then they shall takeוְלָקְחוּa youngבֶּןbullפַּר בָּקָרand its grain offering,וּמִנְחָתוֹfine flourסֹלֶתmixedבְּלוּלָהwith oil;בַשָּׁמֶןand you shall takeוּ תִּקַּחa secondשֵׁנִיyoung bullפַר בֶן בָּקָרas a sin offering.לְחַטָּאת
And you shall bringוְהִקְרַבְתָּthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםbeforeלִפְנֵיthe tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדand assembleוְהִקְהַלְתָּthe wholeאֶת כָּלcommunityעֲדַתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
And you shall bringוְהִקְרַבְתָּthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהand the sonsוְ בְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלshall layסָמְכוּtheir handsאֶת יְדֵיהֶםonעַלthe Levites.הַלְוִיִּם
And Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall waveהֵנִיףthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםas a wave offeringתְּנוּפָהbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהfromמֵאֵתthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand they shall beוְהָיוּfor doingלַעֲבֹדthe serviceאֶת עֲבֹדַתof YHWH.יְהוָה
And the Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּםshall layיִסְמְכוּtheir handsאֶת יְדֵיהֶםonעַלthe headsרֹאשׁof the bulls,הַפָּרִיםand offerוַעֲשֵׂהthe oneאֶת הָאֶחָדas a sin offeringחַטָּאתand the otherוְאֶת הָאֶחָדas a burnt offeringעֹלָהto YHWH,לַיהוָהto make expiationלְכַפֵּרforעַלthe Levites.הַלְוִיִּם
And you shall setוְהַעֲמַדְתָּthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםbeforeלִפְנֵיAaronאַהֲרֹןand beforeוְלִפְנֵיhis sons,בָנָיוand waveוְהֵנַפְתָּthemאֹתָםas a wave offeringתְּנוּפָהto YHWH.לַיהוָה
Thus you shall separateוְהִבְדַּלְתָּthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםfrom amongמִתּוֹךְthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand the Levitesהַלְוִיִּםshall beוְהָיוּmine.לִי
And after thatוְאַחֲרֵי כֵןthe Levitesהַלְוִיִּםshall go inיָבֹאוּto serveלַעֲבֹדthe tentאֶת אֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדwhen you have cleansedוְטִהַרְתָּthemאֹתָםand wavedוְהֵנַפְתָּthemאֹתָםas a wave offering.תְּנוּפָה
Forכִּיtheyהֵמָּהare given,נְתֻנִיםwholly givenנְתֻנִיםto meלִיfrom amongמִתּוֹךְthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel;יִשְׂרָאֵלin place ofתַּחַתallכָּלthat first openפִּטְרַתthe womb,רֶחֶםthe firstbornבְּכוֹרof allכֹּלthe sonsמִבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלI have takenלָקַחְתִּיthemאֹתָםfor myself.לִי
Forכִּיeveryכָלfirstbornבְּכוֹרamong the sonsבִּבְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלis mine,לִיboth among human beingsבָּאָדָםand among animals;וּבַבְּהֵמָהon the dayבְּיוֹםI struckהַכֹּתִיeveryכָלfirstbornבְּכוֹרin the landבְּאֶרֶץof EgyptמִצְרַיִםI consecratedהִקְדַּשְׁתִּיthemאֹתָםto myself.לִי
And I have takenוָאֶקַּחthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםin place ofתַּחַתeveryכָּלfirstbornבְּכוֹרamong the sonsבִּבְנֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
And I have givenוָאֶתְּנָהthe Levitesאֶת הַלְוִיִּםas given onesנְתֻנִיםto Aaronלְאַהֲרֹןand to his sonsוּלְבָנָיוfrom amongמִתּוֹךְthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלto doלַעֲבֹדthe serviceאֶת עֲבֹדַתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלin the tentבְּאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדand to make expiationוּלְכַפֵּרforעַלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלso that there may be noוְלֹא יִהְיֶהplagueנֶגֶףamong the sonsבִּבְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלwhen the sonsבְּ בְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלcome nearגֶשֶׁתto the Holy Place.”אֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ
And Mosesוַ מֹשֶׁהand Aaronוְאַהֲרֹןand the wholeוְכָלcommunityעֲדַתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלdidיַּעַשׂto the Levitesלַלְוִיִּםaccording to allכְּכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhad commandedצִוָּהMosesאֶת מֹשֶׁהconcerning the Levites;לַלְוִיִּםsoכֵּןthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלdidעָשׂוּto them.לָהֶם
And the Levitesהַלְוִיִּםpurified themselves from sinוַיִּתְחַטְּאוּand washedוַיְכַבְּסוּtheir clothes,בִּגְדֵיהֶםand Aaronוַ אַהֲרֹןwavedיָּנֶףthemאֹתָםas a wave offeringתְּנוּפָהbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהand Aaronוַ אַהֲרֹןmade expiationיְכַפֵּרfor themעֲלֵיהֶםto cleanse them.לְטַהֲרָם
And after thatוְאַחֲרֵי כֵןthe Levitesהַלְוִיִּםwent inבָּאוּto doלַעֲבֹדtheir serviceאֶת עֲבֹדָתָםin the tentבְּאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדbeforeלִפְנֵיAaronאַהֲרֹןand beforeוְלִפְנֵיhis sons;בָנָיוasכַּאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhad commandedצִוָּהMosesאֶת מֹשֶׁהconcerningעַלthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםsoכֵּןthey didעָשׂוּto them.לָהֶם
And YHWHוַ יְהוָהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“This isזֹאתwhatאֲשֶׁרapplies to the Levites:לַלְוִיִּםfrom twenty-fiveמִבֶּן חָמֵשׁ וְעֶשְׂרִיםyears oldשָׁנָהand upwardוָמַעְלָהone shall enterיָבוֹאto serveלִצְבֹאin the ranksצָבָאin the serviceבַּעֲבֹדַתof the tentאֹהֶלof meeting.מוֹעֵד
And from the age of fiftyוּמִבֶּן חֲמִשִּׁיםyearsשָׁנָהhe shall withdrawיָשׁוּבfrom the ranksמִצְּבָאof the serviceהָעֲבֹדָהand serveוְ יַעֲבֹדnoלֹאmore.עוֹד
He may ministerוְשֵׁרֵתto his brothersאֶת אֶחָיוin the tentבְּאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדin keepingלִשְׁמֹרthe charge,מִשְׁמֶרֶתbutוַhe shall doיַעֲבֹדnoלֹאservice.עֲבֹדָהThusכָּכָהyou shall doתַּעֲשֶׂהfor the Levitesלַלְוִיִּםregarding their charges.”בְּמִשְׁמְרֹתָם
