Hebrews 4:9–11
A sabbath rest remains for the people of God
Study it word by word9So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10For the one who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, just as God did from his own.
11Let us make every effort, then, to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by the same example of disobedience.
In its context
7again he sets a certain day, Today, saying through David after so long a time, as it has been said before: Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.
8For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not be speaking of another day after these things.
…
12For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13And there is no creature hidden before him, but all things are naked and laid bare to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
