Hebrews 4

Let us fear,Φοβηθῶμενthen,οὖνthat,μήποτεwhile a promiseἐπαγγελίαςremainsκαταλειπομένηςof enteringεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςhis rest,τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦanyτιςof youἐξ ὑμῶνshould seemδοκῇto have fallen short.ὑστερηκέναι

Forγάρwe tooκαὶ ἐσμενhave had the good news announced to us,εὐηγγελισμένοιjust asκαθάπερthey did;κἀκεῖνοιbutἀλλ’the wordὁ λόγοςthey heardτῆς ἀκοῆςdid notοὐκbenefitὠφέλησενthem,ἐκείνουςbecause they were notμὴunitedσυγκεκερασμένουςby faithτῇ πίστειwith those who heard it.τοῖς ἀκούσασιν

Forγὰρwe who have believedοἱ πιστεύσαντεςenterεἰσερχόμεθαintoεἰςrest,κατάπαυσινjust asκαθὼςhe has said:εἴρηκενSoὩςI sworeὤμοσαinἐνmy wrath:τῇ ὀργῇ μουThey will notΕἰenterεἰσελεύσονταιintoεἰςmy rest;τὴν κατάπαυσίν μουalthoughκαίτοιthe worksτῶν ἔργωνhad been finishedγενηθέντωνfromἀπὸthe foundationκαταβολῆςof the world.κόσμου1

Forγάρhe has spokenεἴρηκενsomewhereπουaboutπερὶthe seventh dayτῆς ἑβδόμηςin this way:οὕτωςAndΚαὶGodὁ θεὸςrestedκατέπαυσενonἐνthe seventhτῇ ἑβδόμῃdayτῇ ἡμέρᾳfromἀπὸallπάντωνhis works.τῶν ἔργων αὐτοῦ1

Andκαὶinἐνthis passageτούτῳagain:πάλινThey will notΕἰenterεἰσελεύσονταιintoεἰςmy rest.τὴν κατάπαυσίν μου

Sinceἐπεὶthenοὖνit remains forἀπολείπεταιsomeτινὰςto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςit,αὐτήνandκαὶthose who formerlyοἱ πρότερονhad the good news announced to themεὐαγγελισθέντεςdid notοὐκenterεἰσῆλθονbecause ofδι’disobedience,ἀπείθειαν

againπάλινhe setsὁρίζειa certainτινὰday,ἡμέρανToday,ΣήμερονsayingλέγωνthroughἐνDavidΔαυὶδafterμετὰso longτοσοῦτονa time,χρόνονasκαθὼςit has been said before:προείρηταιToday,Σήμερονifἐὰνyou hearἀκούσητεhis voice,τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦdo notμὴhardenσκληρύνητεyour hearts.τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν1

ForγὰρifεἰJoshuaἸησοῦςhad givenκατέπαυσενthemαὐτοὺςrest,κατέπαυσενhe would notοὐκ ἂνbe speakingἐλάλειofπερὶanotherἄλληςdayἡμέραςafterμετὰthese things.ταῦτα

So then,ἄραthere remainsἀπολείπεταιa Sabbath restσαββατισμὸςfor the peopleτῷ λαῷof God.τοῦ θεοῦ

Forγὰρthe one who has enteredὁ εἰσελθὼνintoεἰςhis restτὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦhas himselfαὐτὸςalsoκαὶrestedκατέπαυσενfromἀπὸhis works,τῶν ἔργων αὐτοῦjust asὥσπερGodὁ θεόςdidfromἀπὸhis own.τῶν ἰδίων

Let us make every effort,σπουδάσωμενthen,οὖνto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςthatἐκείνηνrest,τὴν κατάπαυσινso thatἵναno oneμὴ τιςmay fallπέσῃbyἐνthe sameτῷ αὐτῷexampleὑποδείγματιof disobedience.τῆς ἀπειθείας

Forγὰρthe wordὁ λόγοςof Godτοῦ θεοῦislivingΖῶνandκαὶactiveἐνεργὴςandκαὶsharperτομώτεροςthanὑπὲρanyπᾶσανtwo-edgedδίστομονsword,μάχαιρανandκαὶpiercingδιϊκνούμενοςtoἄχριthe divisionμερισμοῦof soulψυχῆςandκαὶspirit,πνεύματοςof jointsἁρμῶνandτε καὶmarrow,μυελῶνandκαὶable to judgeκριτικὸςthe thoughtsἐνθυμήσεωνandκαὶintentionsἐννοιῶνof the heart.καρδίας

Andκαὶthere isἔστινnoοὐκcreatureκτίσιςhiddenἀφανὴςbeforeἐνώπιονhim,αὐτοῦbutδὲall thingsπάνταarenakedγυμνὰandκαὶlaid bareτετραχηλισμέναto the eyesτοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖςof himαὐτοῦtoπρὸςwhomὃνweἡμῖνmust givean account.ὁ λόγος

Since, then, we haveἜχοντες οὖνa greatμέγανhigh priestἀρχιερέαwho has passed throughδιεληλυθόταthe heavens,τοὺς οὐρανούςJesus,Ἰησοῦνthe Sonτὸν υἱὸνof God,τοῦ θεοῦlet us hold on toκρατῶμενthe confession.τῆς ὁμολογίας

Forγὰρwe do notοὐhaveἔχομενa high priestἀρχιερέαwho is unableμὴ δυνάμενονto sympathize withσυμπαθῆσαιour weaknesses,ταῖς ἀσθενείαις ἡμῶνbutδὲone whohas been testedπεπειρασμένονinκατὰevery wayπάνταjust as we are,καθ’ ὁμοιότηταyetwithoutχωρὶςsin.ἁμαρτίας

Let us draw near,προσερχώμεθαthen,οὖνwithμετὰboldnessπαρρησίαςto the throneτῷ θρόνῳof grace,τῆς χάριτοςso thatἵναwe may receiveλάβωμενmercyἔλεοςandκαὶfindεὕρωμενgraceχάρινforεἰςtimelyεὔκαιρονhelp.βοήθειαν
