Matthew 24:45–51
The faithful servant does his work though the master is delayed; the wicked one takes advantage
Study it word by word45Who, then, is the faithful and wise slave whom the master has put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?
46Happy is that slave whom his master will find doing so when he comes.
47Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
48But if that wicked slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delayed,’
49and begins to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with the drunkards,
50the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour that he does not know,
51and will cut him in two and assign him his place with the hypocrites; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
In its context
43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
44Because of this you also must be ready, because at an hour you do not expect the Son of Man is coming.
