7-day plan: Creation
Where everything comes from, and our place in what God made.
One passage a day, with a question to think it over. Your progress stays on this device, no account needed.
Day 1 · In the Beginning
The book opens with God creating: he says "Let there be light," and there is light
In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of Elohim was hovering over the surface of the waters. And Elohim said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And Elohim saw the light, that it was good; and Elohim separated the light from the darkness. And Elohim called the light “Day,” and the darkness he called “Night.” And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Day 2 · Creation Speaks of Him
David: the heavens declare God's glory without using words
For the director. A psalm of David. The heavens recount the glory of El, and the vault proclaims the work of his hands. Day to day pours out the saying, and night to night declares knowledge. There is no saying, and there are no words; their voice is not heard. Through all the earth their line has gone out, and to the end of the world their words. For the sun he has set a tent in them,

Day 3 · The Human Being, in His Image
God makes human beings in his image, male and female, and blesses them
And Elohim said, “Let us make the human being in our image, according to our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” And Elohim created the human being in his image; in the image of Elohim he created him; male and female he created them. And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every animal that creeps on the earth.”

Day 5 · New Heavens and a New Earth
God announces he is creating new heavens and a new earth, and a people of joy
For look, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor rise in the heart. But rather rejoice and exult forever in what I create; for look, I create Jerusalem as exultation, and her people as rejoicing. And I will exult in Jerusalem and rejoice in my people; and no longer will be heard in her the sound of weeping or the sound of crying.

Day 6 · In the Beginning
God forms the man from the dust of the ground and breathes into him the breath of life
These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH Elohim made earth and heavens. Now no shrub of the field was yet on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for YHWH Elohim had not sent rain on the earth, and there was no human being to work the ground; but a mist would go up from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground. And YHWH Elohim formed the man from dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being.

Day 7 · Creation Speaks of Him
Paul says God's power can be clearly seen in what has been made
because what can be known about God is plain among them, for God made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible things are clearly seen, being understood through the things made, both his eternal power and divinity, so that they are without excuse.
