Hope

7-day plan: Hope

Biblical hope rests on a faithful God who does what he promises.

One passage a day, with a question to think it over. Your progress stays on this device, no account needed.

  1. Day 1 · Hope in God

The psalmist talks to himself: “Why are you cast down, my soul?”

Why are you cast down, my soul, and why are you agitated within me? Await Elohim, for I will yet give him thanks, the salvations of my face and my Elohim.

I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, and I will make great your name; and be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who treats you with contempt I will curse; and in you all the families of the ground will be blessed.”

The soul waits for God more than watchmen wait for the morning

I have waited for YHWH; my soul has waited, and for his word I have awaited. My soul waits for Adonai more than watchmen for the morning, watchmen for the morning. Let Israel await YHWH, for with YHWH is loyal love, and abundant with him is redemption.
