And I lifted upוָאֶשָּׂאmy eyesעֵינַיand saw,וָאֵרֶאand look,וְהִנֵּהa man,אִישׁand in his handוּבְיָדוֹa measuringמִדָּהline.חֶבֶל
And I said,וָאֹמַר“Whereאָנָהare youאַתָּהgoing?”הֹלֵךְAnd he saidוַיֹּאמֶרto me,אֵלַי“To measureלָמֹדJerusalem,יְרוּשָׁלִַםto seeלִרְאוֹתhow muchכַּמָּהits width isרָחְבָּהּand how muchוְכַמָּהits length.”אָרְכָּהּ
And look,וְהִנֵּהthe angelהַמַּלְאָךְwho talkedהַדֹּבֵרwith meבִּיwas going out,יֹצֵאand anotherוּ אַחֵרangelמַלְאָךְwas going outיֹצֵאto meet him,לִקְרָאתוֹ
and he saidוַיֹּאמֶרto him,אֵלָו“Run,רֻץspeakדַּבֵּרtoאֶלthatהַלָּזyoung man,הַנַּעַרsaying,לֵאמֹר‘Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםwill be inhabitedתֵּשֵׁבas unwalled townsפְּרָזוֹתbecause of the multitudeמֵרֹבof human beingsאָדָםand livestockוּבְהֵמָהin its midst.בְּתוֹכָהּ
And Iוַאֲנִיwill beאֶהְיֶהto it,לָּהּdeclaresנְאֻםYHWH,יְהוָהa wallחוֹמַתof fireאֵשׁall around,סָבִיבand for gloryוּלְכָבוֹדI will beאֶהְיֶהin its midst.’”בְתוֹכָהּ
Ho!הוֹיHo!הוֹיFleeוְנֻסוּfrom the landמֵאֶרֶץof the north,צָפוֹןdeclaresנְאֻםYHWH;יְהוָהforכִּיlike the fourכְּאַרְבַּעwindsרוּחוֹתof the heavensהַשָּׁמַיִםI have spread outפֵּרַשְׂתִּיyou,אֶתְכֶםdeclaresנְאֻםYHWH.יְהוָה
Ho,הוֹיZion!צִיּוֹןEscape,הִמָּלְטִיyou who dwell withיוֹשֶׁבֶתthe daughterבַּתof Babylon.בָּבֶל
ForכִּיthusכֹהsaysאָמַרYHWHיְהוָהTsevaot,צְבָאוֹתafterאַחַרgloryכָּבוֹדhe sent meשְׁלָחַנִיtoאֶלthe nationsהַגּוֹיִםthat plunderהַשֹּׁלְלִיםyou:אֶתְכֶם“Forכִּיwhoever touchesהַנֹּגֵעַyouבָּכֶםtouchesנֹגֵעַthe pupilבְּבָבַתof his eye.עֵינוֹ
Forכִּיlook,הִנְIנִיam wavingמֵנִיףmy handיָדִיover them,עֲלֵיהֶםand they will beוְהָיוּplunderשָׁלָלfor their slaves,”לְעַבְדֵיהֶםand you will knowוִידַעְתֶּםthatכִּיYHWHיְהוָהTsevaotצְבָאוֹתhas sent me.שְׁלָחָנִי
“Shout for joyרָנִּיand rejoice,וְשִׂמְחִיdaughterבַּתof Zion,צִיּוֹןforכִּיlook,הִנְIנִיam coming,בָאand I will dwellוְשָׁכַנְתִּיin your midst,בְתוֹכֵךְdeclaresנְאֻםYHWH.יְהוָה
And manyרַבִּיםnationsגוֹיִםwill join themselvesוְנִלְווּtoאֶלYHWHיְהוָהon that day,בַּיּוֹם הַהוּאand they will beוְהָיוּa peopleלְעָםto me;לִיand I will dwellוְשָׁכַנְתִּיin your midst,”בְתוֹכֵךְand you will knowוְיָדַעַתְּthatכִּיYHWHיְהוָהTsevaotצְבָאוֹתhas sent meשְׁלָחַנִיto you.אֵלָיִךְ
And YHWHוְ יְהוָהwill inheritנָחַלJudahיְהוּדָהas his portionחֶלְקוֹinעַלthe holyהַקֹּדֶשׁland,אַדְמַתand will againוּ עוֹדchooseבָחַרJerusalem.בִּירוּשָׁלִָם
Silence,הַסallכָּלflesh,בָּשָׂרbeforeמִפְּנֵיYHWH!יְהוָהForכִּיhe has roused himselfנֵעוֹרfrom his holyמִ קָדְשׁוֹdwelling.מְּעוֹן
