1 Kings 14:14, word by word
- And YHWHיְהוָהyehva
YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Translation note
The end of the verse is very short and obscure in Hebrew: literally “this the day, and what? also now.” It seems to say that the announced punishment is already beginning. The announcement is fulfilled in 1 Kings 15:27-30.
The context
13All Israel will lament for him and bury him, for this one alone of Jeroboam’s house will come to a tomb, because in him something good toward YHWH, the Elohim of Israel, has been found in the house of Jeroboam.
14 · This verse (above)
15YHWH will strike Israel, as the reed sways in the water; and he will uproot Israel from off this good land that he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River Euphrates, because they have made their Asherahs, provoking YHWH to anger.
