2 Corinthians 10

NowδὲIἐγὼPaulΠαῦλοςmyselfΑὐτὸςappeal toπαρακαλῶyouὑμᾶςbyδιὰthe meeknessτῆς πραΰτητοςandκαὶgentlenessἐπιεικείαςof the Messiahτοῦ Χριστοῦ—I whoὃςamlowlyταπεινὸςface to faceκατὰ πρόσωπονamongἐνyou,ὑμῖνbutδὲwhen absentἀπὼνam boldθαρρῶtowardεἰςyou!—ὑμᾶς

andδὲI beg youδέομαιthatτὸwhen presentπαρὼνI may notμὴhave tobe boldθαρρῆσαιwith the confidenceτῇ πεποιθήσειwith whichᾗI reckonλογίζομαιto be daringτολμῆσαιagainstἐπίsomeτιναςwho reckonτοὺς λογιζομένουςusἡμᾶςasὡςwalkingπεριπατοῦνταςaccording toκατὰthe flesh.σάρκα

Forγὰρthough we walkπεριπατοῦντεςinἐνthe flesh,σαρκὶwe do notοὐwage warστρατευόμεθαaccording toκατὰthe flesh;σάρκα

forγὰρthe weaponsτὰ ὅπλαof our warfareτῆς στρατείας ἡμῶνarenotοὐfleshlyσαρκικὰbutἀλλὰpowerfulδυνατὰfor Godτῷ θεῷforπρὸςthe demolitionκαθαίρεσινof strongholds,ὀχυρωμάτωνdemolishingκαθαιροῦντεςargumentsλογισμοὺς

andκαὶeveryπᾶνhigh thingὕψωμαraised upἐπαιρόμενονagainstκατὰthe knowledgeτῆς γνώσεωςof God,τοῦ θεοῦandκαὶtaking captiveαἰχμαλωτίζοντεςeveryπᾶνthoughtνόημαtoεἰςthe obedienceτὴν ὑπακοὴνof the Messiah,τοῦ Χριστοῦ

andκαὶbeing readyἐν ἑτοίμῳ ἔχοντεςto punishἐκδικῆσαιeveryπᾶσανdisobedience,παρακοήνwhenὅτανyourὑμῶνobedienceἡ ὑπακοήis complete.πληρωθῇ

Look atβλέπετεwhat isΤὰbefore your face.κατὰ πρόσωπονIfεἴanyoneτιςis confidentπέποιθενin himselfἑαυτῷthat he belongsεἶναιto the Messiah,Χριστοῦlet him considerλογιζέσθωthisτοῦτοagainπάλινwithinἐφ’himself:ἑαυτοῦthatὅτιjust asκαθὼςheαὐτὸςbelongsto the Messiah,Χριστοῦsoοὕτωςalsoκαὶdowe.ἡμεῖς

Forγὰρeven ifἐάν τεI boastκαυχήσωμαιsomewhatτιmoreπερισσότερόνaboutπερὶour authority,τῆς ἐξουσίας ἡμῶνwhichἧςthe Lordὁ κύριοςgaveἔδωκενforεἰςbuilding you upοἰκοδομὴνandκαὶnotοὐκforεἰςdemolishing you,καθαίρεσιν ὑμῶνI will notοὐκbe ashamed.αἰσχυνθήσομαι

I say thisso thatἵναI may notμὴseemδόξωas ifὡς ἂνI would frightenἐκφοβεῖνyouὑμᾶςwithδιὰthe letters.τῶν ἐπιστολῶν

Forὅτι“The letters,”Αἱ ἐπιστολαὶhe says,φησίν“are weightyβαρεῖαιandκαὶstrong,ἰσχυραίbutδὲthe bodily presenceἡ παρουσία τοῦ σώματοςis weakἀσθενὴςandκαὶthe speechὁ λόγοςcontemptible.”ἐξουθενημένος

Let such a personὁ τοιοῦτοςconsiderλογιζέσθωthis:τοῦτοthatὅτιwhatοἷοίwe areἐσμενin wordτῷ λόγῳthroughδι’lettersἐπιστολῶνwhen absent,ἀπόντεςsuchτοιοῦτοιwe arealsoκαὶwhen presentπαρόντεςin deed.τῷ ἔργῳ

Forγὰρwe do notΟὐdareτολμῶμενto classἐγκρῖναιorἢcompareσυγκρῖναιourselvesἑαυτούςwith someτισινof those whoτῶνcommendσυνιστανόντωνthemselves;ἑαυτοὺςbutἀλλὰthey,αὐτοὶmeasuringμετροῦντεςthemselvesἑαυτοὺςbyἐνthemselvesἑαυτοῖςandκαὶcomparingσυγκρίνοντεςthemselvesἑαυτοὺςwith themselves,ἑαυτοῖςdo notοὐunderstand.συνιᾶσιν

Butδὲweἡμεῖςwill notοὐκboastκαυχησόμεθαbeyondεἰςmeasure,τὰ ἄμετραbutἀλλὰaccording toκατὰthe measureτὸ μέτρονof the ruleτοῦ κανόνοςthatοὗGodὁ θεὸςassignedἐμέρισενto usἡμῖνasa measure,μέτρουto reachἐφικέσθαιevenκαὶas far asἄχριyou.ὑμῶν

Forγὰρwe are notοὐoverextendingὑπερεκτείνομενourselves,ἑαυτούςas thoughὡςnotμὴreachingἐφικνούμενοιtoεἰςyou,ὑμᾶςforγὰρwe came firstἐφθάσαμενevenκαὶas far asἄχριyouὑμῶνwithἐνthe good newsτῷ εὐαγγελίῳof the Messiah,τοῦ Χριστοῦ

notοὐκboastingκαυχώμενοιbeyondεἰςmeasureτὰ ἄμετραinἐνothers’ἀλλοτρίοιςlabors,κόποιςbutδὲhavingἔχοντεςhope thatἐλπίδαas your faithτῆς πίστεως ὑμῶνgrows,αὐξανομένηςwe may be enlargedμεγαλυνθῆναιamongἐνyouὑμῖνaccording toκατὰour ruleτὸν κανόνα ἡμῶνtoεἰςan abundance,περισσείαν

so as toεἰςproclaim the good newsεὐαγγελίσασθαιin the regions beyondτὰ ὑπερέκειναyou,ὑμῶνnotοὐκto boastκαυχήσασθαιinἐνanother’sἀλλοτρίῳruleκανόνιofεἰςthings already prepared.τὰ ἕτοιμα

Butδὲ“Let the one whoὉboastsκαυχώμενοςboastκαυχάσθωinἐνthe Lord.”κυρίῳ1

Forγὰρnotοὐthe one whoὁcommendsσυνιστάνωνhimself,ἑαυτὸνthat oneἐκεῖνόςisἐστινapproved,δόκιμοςbutἀλλὰthe one whomὃνthe Lordὁ κύριοςcommends.συνίστησιν
