AndוַYHWHיְהוָהsaidיֹּאמֶרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁה“Speakאֱמֹרtoאֶלthe priests,הַכֹּהֲנִיםthe sonsבְּנֵיof Aaron,אַהֲרֹןand sayוְאָמַרְתָּto them:אֲלֵהֶםNo one shall make himself uncleanלֹא יִטַּמָּאfor a dead personלְנֶפֶשׁamong his people,בְּעַמָּיו
exceptכִּי אִםfor his close relativeלִשְׁאֵרוֹwho is nearהַקָּרֹבto him:אֵלָיוfor his mother,לְאִמּוֹfor his father,וּלְאָבִיוfor his son,וְלִבְנוֹfor his daughter,וּלְבִתּוֹand for his brother,וּלְאָחִיו
and for his virginוְלַ הַבְּתוּלָהsister,אֲחֹתוֹwho is nearהַקְּרוֹבָהto him,אֵלָיוwhoאֲשֶׁרhas notלֹאbelongedהָיְתָהto a husband;לְאִישׁfor herלָהּhe may make himself unclean.יִטַּמָּא
He shall notלֹאmake himself uncleanיִטַּמָּאas a leaderבַּעַלamong his people,בְּעַמָּיוso as to profane himself.לְהֵחַלּוֹ
They shall notלֹאmakeיִקְרְחוּbald spotsקָרְחָהon their head,בְּרֹאשָׁםand the edgeוּפְאַתof their beardזְקָנָםthey shall notלֹאshave off,יְגַלֵּחוּand in their fleshוּבִבְשָׂרָםthey shall notלֹאmakeיִשְׂרְטוּcuts.שָׂרָטֶת
They shall beיִהְיוּholyקְדֹשִׁיםto their Elohimלֵאלֹהֵיהֶםand shall notוְלֹאprofaneיְחַלְּלוּthe nameשֵׁםof their Elohim,אֱלֹהֵיהֶםforכִּיtheyהֵםpresentמַקְרִיבִםthe fire offeringsאֶת אִשֵּׁיof YHWH,יְהוָהthe foodלֶחֶםof their Elohim;אֱלֹהֵיהֶםso they shall beוְהָיוּholy.קֹדֶשׁ
They shall notלֹאtakeיִקָּחוּa womanאִשָּׁהwho is a prostituteזֹנָהor profaned,וַחֲלָלָהand they shall notוְ לֹאtakeיִקָּחוּa womanאִשָּׁהdivorcedגְּרוּשָׁהfrom her husband,מֵאִישָׁהּforכִּיheהוּאis holyקָדֹשׁto his Elohim.לֵאלֹהָיו
And you shall sanctify him,וְקִדַּשְׁתּוֹforכִּיheהוּאpresentsמַקְרִיבthe foodאֶת לֶחֶםof your Elohim;אֱלֹהֶיךָhe shall beיִהְיֶהholyקָדֹשׁto you,לָּךְforכִּיI,אֲנִיYHWH,יְהוָהwho sanctifiesמְקַדִּשְׁyou,כֶםam holy.קָדוֹשׁ
And the daughterוּבַתof a priest,אִישׁ כֹּהֵןifכִּיshe profanes herselfתֵחֵלby prostituting herself,לִזְנוֹתsheהִיאprofanesמְחַלֶּלֶתher father;אֶת אָבִיהָshe shall be burnedתִּשָּׂרֵףin the fire.בָּאֵשׁ
And the priestוְהַכֹּהֵןwho is highהַגָּדוֹלamong his brothers,מֵאֶחָיוon whose headאֲשֶׁר עַל רֹאשׁוֹthe anointingהַמִּשְׁחָהoilשֶׁמֶןhas been pouredיוּצַקand who has been ordainedוּמִלֵּא אֶת יָדוֹto wearלִלְבֹּשׁthe garments,אֶת הַבְּגָדִיםshall notלֹאlet the hairאֶתof his headרֹאשׁוֹhang looseיִפְרָעand shall notוּ לֹאtearיִפְרֹםhis garments.בְגָדָיו
And he shall notוְ לֹאgoיָבֹאtoעַלanyכָּלdeadמֵתpersons;נַפְשֹׁתnot even for his fatherלְאָבִיוor for his motherוּלְאִמּוֹshall he make himself unclean.לֹא יִטַּמָּא
And he shall notוּ לֹאgo outיֵצֵאfromמִןthe sanctuary,הַמִּקְדָּשׁand he shall notוְלֹאprofaneיְחַלֵּלthe sanctuaryאֵת מִקְדַּשׁof his Elohim,אֱלֹהָיוforכִּיthe consecrationנֵזֶרof the anointingמִשְׁחַתoilשֶׁמֶןof his Elohimאֱלֹהָיוis on him.עָלָיוIאֲנִיam YHWH.יְהוָה
And heוְהוּאshall takeיִקָּחa wifeאִשָּׁהin her virginity.בִבְתוּלֶיהָ
A widow,אַלְמָנָהor a divorced woman,וּגְרוּשָׁהor a profanedוַחֲלָלָהprostitute,זֹנָהtheseאֶת אֵלֶּהhe shall notלֹאtake;יִקָּחbutכִּי אִםa virginבְּתוּלָהof his own peopleמֵעַמָּיוhe shall takeיִקַּחas wife,אִשָּׁה
so that he does notוְלֹאprofaneיְחַלֵּלhis offspringזַרְעוֹamong his people;בְּעַמָּיוforכִּיIאֲנִיam YHWH,יְהוָהwho sanctifiesמְקַדְּשׁhim.”וֹ
AndוַYHWHיְהוָהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“Speakדַּבֵּרto Aaron,אֶל אַהֲרֹןsaying:לֵאמֹרNo manאִישׁof your offspringמִזַּרְעֲךָthroughout their generationsלְדֹרֹתָםwhoאֲשֶׁרhasיִהְיֶה בוֹa defectמוּםshall approachלֹא יִקְרַבto presentלְהַקְרִיבthe foodלֶחֶםof his Elohim.אֱלֹהָיו
Forכִּיnoלֹאmanכָל אִישׁwhoאֲשֶׁרhasבּוֹa defectמוּםshall approach:יִקְרָבa manאִישׁwho is blind,עִוֵּרorאוֹlame,פִסֵּחַorאוֹdisfigured,חָרֻםorאוֹdeformed,שָׂרוּעַ
orאוֹa manאִישׁwhoאֲשֶׁרhasיִהְיֶה בוֹa brokenשֶׁבֶרfootרָגֶלorאוֹa brokenשֶׁבֶרhand,יָד
orאוֹa hunchback,גִבֵּןorאוֹa dwarf,דַקorאוֹone with a spotתְּבַלֻּלin his eye,בְּעֵינוֹorאוֹscabs,גָרָבorאוֹsores,יַלֶּפֶתorאוֹdamagedמְרוֹחַtesticles.אָשֶׁךְ
Noלֹאmanכָּל אִישׁof the offspringמִזֶּרַעof Aaronאַהֲרֹןthe priestהַכֹּהֵןwhoאֲשֶׁרhasבּוֹa defectמוּםshall come nearיִגַּשׁto presentלְהַקְרִיבthe fire offeringsאֶת אִשֵּׁיof YHWH;יְהוָהhe hasבּוֹa defect;מוּםhe shall notלֹאcome nearיִגַּשׁto presentלְהַקְרִיבthe foodאֵת לֶחֶםof his Elohim.אֱלֹהָיו
The foodלֶחֶםof his Elohim,אֱלֹהָיוfrom the most holy thingsמִקָּדְשֵׁי הַקֳּדָשִׁיםand fromוּמִןthe holy things,הַקֳּדָשִׁיםhe may eat;יֹאכֵל
onlyאַךְhe shall notלֹאgoיָבֹאtoאֶלthe veilהַפָּרֹכֶתand shall notוְ לֹאcome nearיִגַּשׁtoאֶלthe altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחַforכִּיhe hasבּוֹa defect,מוּםso that he does notוְלֹאprofaneיְחַלֵּלmy sanctuaries;אֶת מִקְדָּשַׁיforכִּיIאֲנִיam YHWH,יְהוָהwho sanctifiesמְקַדְּשָׁthem.”ם
So Mosesוַ מֹשֶׁהspokeיְדַבֵּרto Aaronאֶל אַהֲרֹןand to his sonsוְאֶל בָּנָיוand to allוְאֶל כָּלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
