Ifוְ כִּיa personנֶפֶשׁsinsתֶחֱטָאin that he hearsוְשָׁמְעָהthe public callקוֹלto testify under oath,אָלָהand he isוְהוּאa witness,עֵדwhetherאוֹhe has seenרָאָהorאוֹknown the matter,יָדָעifאִםhe does notלוֹאdeclare it,יַגִּידhe shall bearוְנָשָׂאhis iniquity.עֲוֺנוֹ
Orאוֹif a personנֶפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁרtouchesתִּגַּעanyבְּכָלuncleanטָמֵאthing,דָּבָרwhetherאוֹthe carcassבְנִבְלַתof an uncleanטְמֵאָהanimal,חַיָּהorאוֹthe carcassבְּנִבְלַתof an uncleanטְמֵאָהbeast,בְּהֵמָהorאוֹthe carcassבְּנִבְלַתof an uncleanטָמֵאswarming thing,שֶׁרֶץand it is hiddenוְנֶעְלַםfrom him,מִמֶּנּוּhe has becomeוְהוּאuncleanטָמֵאand guilty.וְאָשֵׁם
Orאוֹifכִיhe touchesיִגַּעhumanאָדָםuncleanness,בְּטֻמְאַתanyלְכֹלuncleanness of hisטֻמְאָתוֹby whichאֲשֶׁרone becomes unclean,יִטְמָא בָּהּand it is hiddenוְנֶעְלַםfrom him,מִמֶּנּוּwhen heוְהוּאcomes to know itיָדַעhe will be guilty.וְאָשֵׁם
Orאוֹif a personנֶפֶשׁ כִּיswears,תִשָּׁבַעspeaking rashlyלְבַטֵּאwith his lipsבִשְׂפָתַיִםto do evilלְהָרַעorאוֹto do good,לְהֵיטִיבin any matterלְכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרa manהָאָדָםmay speak rashlyיְבַטֵּאin an oath,בִּשְׁבֻעָהand it is hiddenוְנֶעְלַםfrom him,מִמֶּנּוּwhen heוְהוּאcomes to know itיָדַעhe will be guiltyוְאָשֵׁםinלְoneאַחַתof these.מֵאֵלֶּה
Whenוְהָיָה כִיhe becomes guiltyיֶאְשַׁםinלְoneאַחַתof these,מֵאֵלֶּהhe shall confessוְהִתְוַדָּהthat in whichאֲשֶׁר עָלֶיהָhe has sinned.חָטָא
He shall bringוְהֵבִיאhis guilt offeringאֲשָׁמוֹto YHWHלַיהוָהforעַלhis sinחַטָּאתוֹthatאֲשֶׁרhe has committed:חָטָאa femaleנְקֵבָהfromמִןthe flock,הַצֹּאןa ewe lambכִּשְׂבָּהorאוֹa female goat,שְׂעִירַת עִזִּיםas a sin offering;לְחַטָּאתand the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall make expiationכִפֶּרfor himעָלָיוfor his sin.מֵחַטָּאתוֹ
And ifוְאִםhis meansיָדוֹdo notלֹאreachתַגִּיעenoughדֵּיfor a lamb,שֶׂהhe shall bringוְהֵבִיאas his guilt offeringאֲשָׁמוֹfor whatאֲשֶׁרhe has sinnedחָטָאtwoשְׁתֵּיturtledovesתֹרִיםorאוֹtwoשְׁנֵיyoungבְנֵיpigeonsיוֹנָהto YHWH,לַיהוָהoneאֶחָדas a sin offeringלְחַטָּאתand oneוְאֶחָדas a burnt offering.לְעֹלָה
He shall bringוְהֵבִיאthemאֹתָםtoאֶלthe priest,הַכֹּהֵןand he shall presentוְהִקְרִיבthe one that isאֲשֶׁרfor the sin offeringלַחַטָּאתfirst,רִאשׁוֹנָהand wringוּמָלַקits headרֹאשׁוֹat the backמִמּוּלof its neck,עָרְפּוֹbut he shall notוְלֹאdivide it.יַבְדִּיל
He shall sprinkleוְהִזָּהsome of the bloodמִדַּםof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתonעַלthe wallקִירof the altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחַand the restוְהַנִּשְׁאָרof the bloodבַּדָּםshall be drained outיִמָּצֵהatאֶלthe baseיְסוֹדof the altar;הַמִּזְבֵּחַit isהוּאa sin offering.חַטָּאת
The secondוְ הַשֵּׁנִיhe shall offerיַעֲשֶׂהas a burnt offeringעֹלָהaccording to the regulation.כַּמִּשְׁפָּטSo the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall make expiationכִפֶּרfor himעָלָיוfor his sinמֵחַטָּאתוֹthatאֲשֶׁרhe has committed,חָטָאand he will be forgiven.וְנִסְלַח לוֹ
But ifוְאִםhis meansיָדוֹdo notלֹאreachתַשִּׂיגto twoלִשְׁתֵּיturtledovesתֹרִיםorאוֹto twoלִשְׁנֵיyoungבְנֵיpigeons,יוֹנָהhe shall bring,וְהֵבִיאas his offeringקָרְבָּנוֹfor whatאֲשֶׁרhe has sinned,חָטָאa tenthעֲשִׂירִתof an ephahהָאֵפָהof fine flourסֹלֶתas a sin offering;לְחַטָּאתhe shall notלֹאputיָשִׂיםoilשֶׁמֶןon it,עָלֶיהָand he shall notוְלֹאputיִתֵּןfrankincenseלְבֹנָהon it,עָלֶיהָforכִּיit isהִיאa sin offering.חַטָּאת
He shall bring itוֶהֱבִיאָהּtoאֶלthe priest,הַכֹּהֵןand the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall takeקָמַץfrom itמִמֶּנָּהhis fullמְלוֹאhandfulקֻמְצוֹas its memorial portionאַזְכָּרָתָהand offer it up in smokeוְהִקְטִירon the altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחָהon top ofעַלthe fire offeringsאִשֵּׁיof YHWH;יְהוָהit isהִואa sin offering.חַטָּאת
So the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall make expiationכִפֶּרfor himעָלָיוforעַלhis sinחַטָּאתוֹthatאֲשֶׁרhe has committedחָטָאin anyמֵאַחַתof these,מֵאֵלֶּהand he will be forgiven.וְנִסְלַח לוֹAnd the rest shall beוְהָיְתָהfor the priest,לַכֹּהֵןas with the grain offering.”כַּמִּנְחָה
YHWHיְהוָהspokeוַיְדַבֵּרto Moses,אֶל מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“Whenכִּיa personנֶפֶשׁactsתִמְעֹלunfaithfullyמַעַלand sinsוְחָטְאָהinadvertentlyבִּשְׁגָגָהin regard to the holy thingsמִקָּדְשֵׁיof YHWH,יְהוָהhe shall bringוְהֵבִיאhis guilt offeringאֲשָׁמוֹto YHWH,לַיהוָהa ramאַיִלwithout defectתָּמִיםfromמִןthe flock,הַצֹּאןby your valuationבְּעֶרְכְּךָin shekelsשְׁקָלִיםof silver,כֶּסֶףby the shekelבְּשֶׁקֶלof the sanctuary,הַקֹּדֶשׁas a guilt offering.לְאָשָׁם
And whatוְ אֲשֶׁרhe has sinnedחָטָאagainstמִןthe holy thingהַקֹּדֶשׁhe shall restore,יְשַׁלֵּםand he shall addוְ יוֹסֵףa fifthחֲמִישִׁתוֹto itעָלָיוand giveוְנָתַןitאֹתוֹto the priest;לַכֹּהֵןand the priestוְהַכֹּהֵןshall make expiationיְכַפֵּרfor himעָלָיוwith the ramבְּאֵילof the guilt offering,הָאָשָׁםand he will be forgiven.וְנִסְלַח לוֹ
And ifוְאִםa personנֶפֶשׁsinsכִּי תֶחֱטָאand doesוְעָשְׂתָהany oneאַחַתof allמִכָּלthe commandmentsמִצְוֺתof YHWHיְהוָהconcerning things thatאֲשֶׁרshould notלֹאbe done,תֵעָשֶׂינָהthough he did notוְלֹאknow it,יָדַעhe is guiltyוְאָשֵׁםand shall bearוְנָשָׂאhis iniquity.עֲוֺנוֹ
He shall bringוְהֵבִיאa ramאַיִלwithout defectתָּמִיםfromמִןthe flock,הַצֹּאןby your valuation,בְּעֶרְכְּךָas a guilt offering,לְאָשָׁםtoאֶלthe priest,הַכֹּהֵןand the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall make expiationכִפֶּרfor himעָלָיוforעַלhis inadvertenceשִׁגְגָתוֹin whichאֲשֶׁרhe erredשָׁגָגwithoutוְהוּא לֹאknowing it,יָדַעand he will be forgiven.וְנִסְלַח לוֹ
It isהוּאa guilt offering;אָשָׁםhe has certainlyאָשֹׁםbecome guiltyאָשַׁםbefore YHWH.”לַיהוָה
