Luke 5:17-26

17And it happened, on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were sitting there Pharisees and teachers of the law who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was with him for him to heal. 18And look, men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were trying to bring him in and lay him before him. 19And not finding how they could bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with the stretcher into the middle, in front of Jesus. 20And seeing their faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” 21And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22But Jesus, perceiving their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? 23Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he said to the paralyzed man— “I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go to your home.” 25And immediately he got up before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went away to his home, glorifying God. 26And amazement seized them all, and they were glorifying God, and they were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen incredible things today.”

Matthew 9:1-8

1And getting into a boat, he crossed over and came to his own town. 2And look, they were bringing to him a paralytic lying on a bed. And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, “Take courage, child; your sins are forgiven.” 3And look, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” 4And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts? 5For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”— then he says to the paralytic— “Get up, pick up your bed, and go to your home.” 7And he got up and went away to his home. 8Seeing it, the crowds were afraid and glorified God, who had given such authority to human beings.

Mark 2:1-12

1And when he came back into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was at home. 2And many gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and he was speaking the word to them. 3And they come, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four men. 4And when they could not bring him to him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above where he was; and having dug through, they let down the mat on which the paralyzed man was lying. 5And Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the paralyzed man, “Child, your sins are forgiven.” 6Now some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7“Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 8And at once Jesus, knowing in his spirit that they were reasoning like this within themselves, says to them, “Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts? 9Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your mat and walk’? 10But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he says to the paralyzed man— 11“I say to you, get up, pick up your mat, and go to your home.” 12And he got up, and at once picking up the mat, he went out before all of them, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
