for fortyτεσσεράκονταdays,ἡμέραςbeing temptedπειραζόμενοςbyὑπὸthe devil.τοῦ διαβόλουAndκαὶhe did notοὐκeatἔφαγενanythingοὐδὲνinἐνthoseἐκείναιςdays,ταῖς ἡμέραιςandκαὶwhen they were completed,συντελεσθεισῶν αὐτῶνhe was hungry.ἐπείνασεν
Andδὲthe devilὁ διάβολοςsaidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“IfΕἰyou areεἶthe Sonυἱὸςof God,τοῦ θεοῦtellεἰπὲthisτούτῳstoneτῷ λίθῳtoἵναbecomeγένηταιbread.”ἄρτος
AndκαὶJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςansweredἀπεκρίθηhim,πρὸς αὐτὸν“It is written:ΓέγραπταιA human beingὁ ἄνθρωποςwill notΟὐκliveζήσεταιonἐπ’breadἄρτῳalone.”μόνῳ
AndΚαὶleading him up,ἀναγαγὼν αὐτὸνhe showedἔδειξενhimαὐτῷallπάσαςthe kingdomsτὰς βασιλείαςof the inhabited worldτῆς οἰκουμένηςinἐνa momentστιγμῇof time.χρόνου
Andκαὶthe devilὁ διάβολοςsaidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“To youΣοὶI will giveδώσωallἅπασανthisταύτηνauthorityτὴν ἐξουσίανandκαὶtheir glory,τὴν δόξαν αὐτῶνforὅτιit has been handed overπαραδέδοταιto me,ἐμοὶandκαὶto whomeverᾧ ἂνI wishθέλωI giveδίδωμιit.αὐτήν
Soοὖνifἐὰνyouσὺbow downπροσκυνήσῃςbeforeἐνώπιονme,ἐμοῦit will beἔσταιallπᾶσαyours.”σοῦ
Andκαὶanswering,ἀποκριθεὶςJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“It is written:ΓέγραπταιBeforethe LordΚύριονyour Godτὸν θεόν σουyou will bow down,προσκυνήσειςandκαὶhimαὐτῷaloneμόνῳyou will serve.”λατρεύσεις
Andδὲhe broughtἬγαγενhimαὐτὸνtoεἰςJerusalemἸερουσαλὴμandκαὶset himἔστησενonἐπὶthe pinnacleτὸ πτερύγιονof the temple,τοῦ ἱεροῦandκαὶsaidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“IfΕἰyou areεἶthe Sonυἱὸςof God,τοῦ θεοῦthrowβάλεyourselfσεαυτὸνdownκάτωfrom here;ἐντεῦθεν
forγὰρit is written:γέγραπταιHe will commandἐντελεῖταιhis angelsΤοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦconcerningπερὶyou,σοῦto guardτοῦ διαφυλάξαιyou,σε
and:καὶOnἘπὶtheir handsχειρῶνthey will carryἀροῦσίνyou,σεso that you do notμήποτεstrikeπροσκόψῃςyour footτὸν πόδα σουagainstπρὸςa stone.”λίθον
Andκαὶanswering,ἀποκριθεὶςJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“It is said:ΕἴρηταιYou will notΟὐκputἐκπειράσειςthe Lordκύριονyour Godτὸν θεόν σουto the test.”ἐκπειράσεις
Andκαὶwhen the devilὁ διάβολοςhad finishedσυντελέσαςeveryπάνταtemptation,πειρασμὸνhe departedἀπέστηfromἀπ’himαὐτοῦuntilἄχριan opportune time.καιροῦ
AndΚαὶJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςreturnedὑπέστρεψενinἐνthe powerτῇ δυνάμειof the Spiritτοῦ πνεύματοςtoεἰςGalilee,τὴν Γαλιλαίανandκαὶnewsφήμηaboutπερὶhimαὐτοῦwent outἐξῆλθενthroughκαθ’the wholeὅληςsurrounding region.τῆς περιχώρου
Andκαὶheαὐτὸςwas teachingἐδίδασκενinἐνtheir synagogues,ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶνbeing glorifiedδοξαζόμενοςbyὑπὸall.πάντων
AndΚαὶhe cameἦλθενtoεἰςNazareth,Ναζαράwhereοὗhe had beenἦνbrought up;τεθραμμένοςandκαὶaccording toκατὰhisαὐτῷcustomτὸ εἰωθὸςhe wentεἰσῆλθενintoεἰςthe synagogueτὴν συναγωγήνon the Sabbath day,ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτωνandκαὶhe stood upἀνέστηto read.ἀναγνῶναι
Andκαὶthe scrollβιβλίονof the prophetτοῦ προφήτουIsaiahἨσαΐουwas handedἐπεδόθηto him,αὐτῷandκαὶunrollingἀναπτύξαςthe scroll,τὸ βιβλίονhe foundεὗρενthe placeτὸν τόπονwhereοὗit wasἦνwritten:γεγραμμένον
“The SpiritΠνεῦμαof the Lordκυρίουisuponἐπ’me,ἐμέbecauseοὗ εἵνεκενhe anointedἔχρισένmeμεto bring good newsεὐαγγελίσασθαιto the poor;πτωχοῖςhe has sentἀπέσταλκένmeμεto proclaimκηρύξαιfreedomἄφεσινto the captivesαἰχμαλώτοιςandκαὶrecovery of sightἀνάβλεψινto the blind,τυφλοῖςto send awayἀποστεῖλαιthe oppressedτεθραυσμένουςinἐνfreedom,ἀφέσει
to proclaimκηρύξαιthe favorableδεκτόνyearἐνιαυτὸνof the Lord.”κυρίου
Andκαὶrolling upπτύξαςthe scrollτὸ βιβλίονandgiving it backἀποδοὺςto the attendant,τῷ ὑπηρέτῃhe sat down;ἐκάθισενandκαὶthe eyesοἱ ὀφθαλμοὶof allπάντωνinἐνthe synagogueτῇ συναγωγῇwereἦσανfixedἀτενίζοντεςon him.αὐτῷ

Andκαὶallπάντεςwere testifyingἐμαρτύρουνabout himαὐτῷandκαὶmarvelingἐθαύμαζονatἐπὶthe wordsτοῖς λόγοιςof graceτῆς χάριτοςthatτοῖςwere coming outἐκπορευομένοιςofἐκhis mouth,τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦandκαὶthey were saying,ἔλεγον“IsἐστινthisοὗτοςnotΟὐχὶJoseph’sἸωσὴφson?”υἱός
Andκαὶhe saidεἶπενtoπρὸςthem,αὐτούς“SurelyΠάντωςyou will tellἐρεῖτέmeμοιthisταύτηνproverb:τὴν παραβολὴνPhysician,Ἰατρέhealθεράπευσονyourself;σεαυτόνall thatὅσαwe heardἠκούσαμενwas doneγενόμεναinεἰςCapernaum,τὴν Καφαρναοὺμdoποίησονhereὧδεalso,καὶinἐνyour hometown.”τῇ πατρίδι σου
Andδέhe said,εἶπεν“TrulyἈμὴνI tellλέγωyou,ὑμῖνnoοὐδεὶςprophetπροφήτηςisἐστινwelcomeδεκτόςinἐνhis hometown.τῇ πατρίδι αὐτοῦ
Butδὲin truthἐπ’ ἀληθείαςI tellλέγωyou,ὑμῖνthere wereἦσανmanyπολλαὶwidowsχῆραιinἐνthe daysταῖς ἡμέραιςof ElijahἨλίουinἐνIsrael,τῷ Ἰσραήλwhenὅτεheavenὁ οὐρανὸςwas shutἐκλείσθηforἐπὶthreeτρίαyearsἔτηandκαὶsixἕξmonths,μῆναςwhenὡςa greatμέγαςfamineλιμὸςcameἐγένετοoverἐπὶallπᾶσανthe land;τὴν γῆν
andκαὶtoπρὸςnoneοὐδεμίανof themαὐτῶνwas ElijahἨλίαςsent,ἐπέμφθηexceptεἰ μὴtoεἰςZarephathΣάρεπταof Sidon,τῆς Σιδωνίαςtoπρὸςa widow.γυναῖκα χήραν
Andκαὶthere wereἦσανmanyπολλοὶlepersλεπροὶinἐνIsraelτῷ Ἰσραὴλin the time ofἐπὶElishaἘλισαίουthe prophet,τοῦ προφήτουandκαὶnoneοὐδεὶςof themαὐτῶνwas cleansed,ἐκαθαρίσθηexceptεἰ μὴNaamanΝαιμὰνthe Syrian.”ὁ Σύρος

andκαὶrising up,ἀναστάντεςthey droveἐξέβαλονhimαὐτὸνoutἔξωof the town,τῆς πόλεωςandκαὶthey ledἤγαγονhimαὐτὸνtoἕωςthe browὀφρύοςof the hillτοῦ ὄρουςonἐφ’whichοὗtheir townἡ πόλις αὐτῶνhad been built,ᾠκοδόμητοso asὥστεto throwκατακρημνίσαιhimαὐτόνdown the cliff.κατακρημνίσαι
Butδὲhe,αὐτὸςpassingδιελθὼνthroughδιὰthe midstμέσουof them,αὐτῶνwent on his way.ἐπορεύετο
AndΚαὶhe went downκατῆλθενtoεἰςCapernaum,Καφαρναοὺμa townπόλινof Galilee.τῆς ΓαλιλαίαςAndκαὶhe wasἦνteachingδιδάσκωνthemαὐτοὺςonἐνthe Sabbath.τοῖς σάββασιν
Andκαὶthey were astonishedἐξεπλήσσοντοatἐπὶhis teaching,τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦbecauseὅτιhis wordὁ λόγος αὐτοῦwasἦνwithἐνauthority.ἐξουσίᾳ
Andκαὶinἐνthe synagogueτῇ συναγωγῇthere wasἦνa manἄνθρωποςwho hadἔχωνa spiritπνεῦμαof an uncleanἀκαθάρτουdemon,δαιμονίουandκαὶhe cried outἀνέκραξενwith a loudμεγάλῃvoice,φωνῇ
“Ah!ἜαWhatτίhave we to doἡμῖνwithκαὶyou,σοίJesusἸησοῦof Nazareth?ΝαζαρηνέHave you comeἦλθεςto destroyἀπολέσαιus?ἡμᾶςI knowοἶδάwhoτίςyouσεare:εἶthe Holy Oneὁ ἅγιοςof God!”τοῦ θεοῦ
AndκαὶJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςrebukedἐπετίμησενhim,αὐτῷsaying,λέγων“Be silent,Φιμώθητιandκαὶcome outἔξελθεofἀπ’him!”αὐτοῦAndκαὶwhen the demonτὸ δαιμόνιονhad thrownῥίψανhimαὐτὸνdownεἰςin the middle,τὸ μέσονit came outἐξῆλθενofἀπ’him,αὐτοῦdoingβλάψανhimαὐτόνnoμηδὲνharm.βλάψαν
Andκαὶamazementθάμβοςcameἐγένετοuponἐπὶall,πάνταςandκαὶthey were talkingσυνελάλουνwithπρὸςone another,ἀλλήλουςsaying,λέγοντες“WhatΤίςisthisοὗτοςword,ὁ λόγοςthatὅτιwithἐνauthorityἐξουσίᾳandκαὶpowerδυνάμειhe commandsἐπιτάσσειthe uncleanτοῖς ἀκαθάρτοιςspirits,πνεύμασινandκαὶthey come out?”ἐξέρχονται
Andκαὶa reportἦχοςaboutπερὶhimαὐτοῦwas going outἐξεπορεύετοintoεἰςeveryπάνταplaceτόπονof the surrounding region.τῆς περιχώρου
AndδὲrisingἈναστὰςto gofromἀπὸthe synagogue,τῆς συναγωγῆςhe went intoεἰσῆλθεν εἰςSimon’sΣίμωνοςhouse.τὴν οἰκίανNowδὲSimon’sτοῦ Σίμωνοςmother-in-lawπενθερὰwasἦνgrippedσυνεχομένηby a highμεγάλῳfever,πυρετῷandκαὶthey askedἠρώτησανhimαὐτὸνaboutπερὶher.αὐτῆς
Andκαὶstandingἐπιστὰςoverἐπάνωher,αὐτῆςhe rebukedἐπετίμησενthe fever,τῷ πυρετῷandκαὶit leftἀφῆκενher;αὐτήνandδὲimmediatelyπαραχρῆμαshe got upἀναστᾶσαand began servingδιηκόνειthem.αὐτοῖς
Nowδὲas the sunτοῦ ἡλίουwas setting,Δύνοντοςallἅπαντεςwhoὅσοιhadεἶχονany who were sickἀσθενοῦνταςwith variousποικίλαιςdiseasesνόσοιςbroughtἤγαγονthemαὐτοὺςtoπρὸςhim;αὐτόνandδὲhe,ὁlayingἐπιτιθεὶςhis handsτὰς χεῖραςon eachἑνὶ ἑκάστῳone of them,αὐτῶνwas healingἐθεράπευενthem.αὐτούς
Andδὲdemonsδαιμόνιαalsoκαὶwere coming outἐξήρχετοfromἀπὸmany,πολλῶνcrying outκραυγάζονταandκαὶsaying,λέγοντα“YouΣὺareεἶthe Sonὁ υἱὸςof God!”τοῦ θεοῦAndκαὶrebuking them,ἐπιτιμῶνhe would notοὐκletεἴαthemαὐτὰspeak,λαλεῖνbecauseὅτιthey knewᾔδεισανhimαὐτὸνto beεἶναιthe Messiah.τὸν χριστὸν
Andδὲwhen dayἡμέραςcame,Γενομένηςhe went outἐξελθὼνand wentἐπορεύθηtoεἰςa desertedἔρημονplace;τόπονandκαὶthe crowdsοἱ ὄχλοιwere searching forἐπεζήτουνhim,αὐτόνandκαὶthey cameἦλθονtoἕωςhimαὐτοῦandκαὶwere holdingκατεῖχονhim backαὐτὸνso that he would notτοῦ μὴgo awayπορεύεσθαιfromἀπ’them.αὐτῶν
Butδὲheὁsaidεἶπενtoπρὸςthem,αὐτοὺς“I mustμε δεῖbring the good newsεὐαγγελίσασθαίof the kingdomτὴν βασιλείανof Godτοῦ θεοῦto the otherταῖς ἑτέραιςtownsπόλεσινalso,Καὶbecauseὅτιforἐπὶthis purposeτοῦτοI was sent.”ἀπεστάλην
