A jealousקַנּוֹאand avengingוְנֹקֵםElאֵלis YHWH;יְהוָהavengingנֹקֵםis YHWHיְהוָהand a masterוּבַעַלof fury;חֵמָהavengingנֹקֵםis YHWHיְהוָהon his adversaries,לְצָרָיוand heוְ הוּאholds itנוֹטֵרagainst his enemies.לְאֹיְבָיו
YHWHיְהֹוָהis slowאֶרֶךְto angerאַפַּיִםand greatוּגְדָלin power,כֹּחַand will by no meansוְנַקֵּה לֹאleave the guilty unpunished.יְנַקֶּהYHWH,יְהוָהin the whirlwindבְּסוּפָהand in the stormוּבִשְׂעָרָהis his way,דַּרְכּוֹand cloudsוְעָנָןare the dustאֲבַקof his feet.רַגְלָיו
He rebukesגּוֹעֵרthe seaבַּיָּםand dries it up,וַיַּבְּשֵׁהוּand allוְכָלthe riversהַנְּהָרוֹתhe drains;הֶחֱרִיבBashanבָּשָׁןand Carmelוְכַרְמֶלwither,אֻמְלַלand the bloomוּפֶרַחof Lebanonלְבָנוֹןwithers.אֻמְלָל
The mountainsהָרִיםquakeרָעֲשׁוּbefore him,מִמֶּנּוּand the hillsוְהַגְּבָעוֹתmelt;הִתְמֹגָגוּand the earthהָאָרֶץheavesוַתִּשָּׂאat his presence,מִפָּנָיוand the worldוְתֵבֵלand allוְכָלwho dwellיֹשְׁבֵיin it.בָהּ
Beforeלִפְנֵיhis indignationזַעְמוֹwhoמִיcan stand?יַעֲמוֹדAnd whoוּמִיcan rise upיָקוּםin the burningבַּחֲרוֹןof his anger?אַפּוֹHis furyחֲמָתוֹis poured outנִתְּכָהlike fire,כָאֵשׁand the rocksוְהַצֻּרִיםare broken downנִתְּצוּbefore him.מִמֶּנּוּ
Goodטוֹבis YHWH,יְהוָהa strongholdלְמָעוֹזin the dayבְּיוֹםof distress;צָרָהand he knowsוְיֹדֵעַthose who take refugeחֹסֵיin him.בוֹ
But with a floodוּבְשֶׁטֶףthat passes overעֹבֵרhe will makeיַעֲשֶׂהan exterminationכָּלָהof her place,מְקוֹמָהּand his enemiesוְאֹיְבָיוhe will pursueיְרַדֶּףinto darkness.חֹשֶׁךְ
Whatמַהdo you deviseתְּחַשְּׁבוּןagainstאֶלYHWH?יְהוָהAn exterminationכָּלָהheהוּאis making;עֹשֶׂהdistressצָרָהwill notלֹאrise upתָקוּםtwice.פַּעֲמַיִם
Forכִּיthey are likeעַדtangledסְבֻכִיםthornsסִירִיםand likeוּכְdrunkardsסְבוּאִיםwith their drink;סָבְאָםthey will be consumedאֻכְּלוּlike stubbleכְּקַשׁfullyמָלֵאdry.יָבֵשׁ
From youמִמֵּךְhas come outיָצָאone who devisesחֹשֵׁבevilרָעָהagainstעַלYHWH,יְהוָהa counselorיֹעֵץof perversity.בְּלִיָּעַל
ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרYHWH:יְהוָה“Thoughאִםthey are intactשְׁלֵמִיםand likewiseוְכֵןmany,רַבִּיםeven soוְכֵןthey will be cut offנָגֹזּוּand pass away.וְעָבָרAnd though I have afflicted you,וְעִנִּתִךְI will notלֹאafflict youאֲעַנֵּךְanymore.עוֹד
And nowוְעַתָּהI will breakאֶשְׁבֹּרhis yoke barמֹטֵהוּfrom off you,מֵעָלָיִךְand your bondsוּמוֹסְרֹתַיִךְI will tear apart.”אֲנַתֵּק
And YHWHוְ יְהוָהhas commandedצִוָּהconcerning you:עָלֶיךָ“No moreלֹא עוֹדof your nameמִשִּׁמְךָwill be sown;יִזָּרַעfrom the houseמִבֵּיתof your godsאֱלֹהֶיךָI will cut offאַכְרִיתthe carved imageפֶּסֶלand the cast image;וּמַסֵּכָהI will makeאָשִׂיםyour grave,קִבְרֶךָforכִּיyou are contemptible.”קַלּוֹתָ
Look,הִנֵּהonעַלthe mountainsהֶהָרִיםthe feetרַגְלֵיof the one who brings good news,מְבַשֵּׂרwho makesמַשְׁמִיעַpeaceשָׁלוֹםheard!מַשְׁמִיעַCelebrate,חָגִּיJudah,יְהוּדָהyour festivals;חַגַּיִךְfulfillשַׁלְּמִיyour vows;נְדָרָיִךְforכִּיthe perverse oneבְּלִיַּעַלwill notלֹאagainיוֹסִיף עוֹדpass throughלַעֲבָרyou;בָּךְhe is entirelyכֻּלֹּהcut off.נִכְרָת
