The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Psalms 40:13-17
13Be pleased, YHWH, to deliver me; YHWH, hurry to my help. 14Let them be ashamed and abashed together, those who seek my soul to sweep it away; let them turn back and be humiliated, those who desire my harm. 15Let them be desolate because of their shame, those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” 16Let them rejoice and be glad in you, all who seek you; let them say continually, “Magnified be YHWH!” those who love your salvation. 17And I am afflicted and needy; Adonai will think of me; my help and the one who brings me to safety are you; my Elohim, do not delay.
1For the director. Of David. For remembrance. Elohim, to deliver me, YHWH, hurry to my help. 2Let them be ashamed and abashed, those who seek my soul; let them turn back and be humiliated, those who desire my harm. 3Let them turn around because of their shame, those who say, “Aha! Aha!” 4Let them rejoice and be glad in you, all who seek you; and let them say continually, “Magnified be Elohim!” those who love your salvation. 5And I am afflicted and needy; Elohim, hurry to me; my help and the one who brings me to safety are you; YHWH, do not delay.
