For the director.לַמְנַצֵּחַOf David.לְדָוִדA psalm.מִזְמוֹרI waited and waitedקַוֺּה קִוִּיתִיfor YHWH,יְהוָהand he inclinedוַיֵּטto meאֵלַיand heardוַיִּשְׁמַעmy cry for help.שַׁוְעָתִי
And he brought me upוַיַּעֲלֵנִיfrom the pitמִבּוֹרof tumult,שָׁאוֹןfrom the mudמִטִּיטof the mire,הַיָּוֵןand setוַיָּקֶםmy feetרַגְלַיupon a crag;עַל סֶלַעhe made firmכּוֹנֵןmy steps.אֲשֻׁרָי
And he putוַיִּתֵּןin my mouthבְּפִיa newחָדָשׁsong,שִׁירpraiseתְּהִלָּהto our Elohim;לֵאלֹהֵינוּmanyרַבִּיםwill seeיִרְאוּand fearוְיִירָאוּand trustוְיִבְטְחוּin YHWH.בַּיהוָה
Happy isאַשְׁרֵיthe manהַגֶּבֶרwhoאֲשֶׁרhas madeשָׂםYHWHיְהֹוָהhis trust,מִבְטַחוֹand has notוְלֹאturnedפָנָהto the arrogantאֶל רְהָבִיםor to those who go astrayוְשָׂטֵיafter a lie.כָזָב
Many thingsרַבּוֹתyou have done,עָשִׂיתָyou,אַתָּהYHWHיְהוָהmy Elohim,אֱלֹהַיyour wondersנִפְלְאֹתֶיךָand your thoughtsוּמַחְשְׁבֹתֶיךָtoward us;אֵלֵינוּthere is noneאֵיןto compareעֲרֹךְwith you;אֵלֶיךָwere I to declareאַגִּידָהand speak of them,וַאֲדַבֵּרָהthey are too manyעָצְמוּto count.מִסַּפֵּר
Sacrificeזֶבַחand offeringוּמִנְחָהyou did notלֹאdesire;חָפַצְתָּearsאָזְנַיִםyou have openedכָּרִיתָfor me;לִּיburnt offeringעוֹלָהand sin offeringוַחֲטָאָהyou did notלֹאask.שָׁאָלְתָּ
ThenאָזI said,אָמַרְתִּי“Look,הִנֵּהI have come;בָאתִיin the scrollבִּמְגִלַּתof the bookסֵפֶרit is writtenכָּתוּבof me.עָלָי
To doלַעֲשׂוֹתyour will,רְצוֹנְךָmy Elohim,אֱלֹהַיI have desired,חָפָצְתִּיand your instructionוְתוֹרָתְךָis withinבְּתוֹךְmy inward parts.”מֵעָי
I have proclaimed the good newsבִּשַּׂרְתִּיof righteousnessצֶדֶקin the great assembly;בְּקָהָל רָבlook,הִנֵּהmy lipsשְׂפָתַיI will notלֹאrestrain;אֶכְלָאYHWH,יְהוָהyouאַתָּהknow it.יָדָעְתָּ
Your righteousnessצִדְקָתְךָI have notלֹאcoveredכִסִּיתִיwithinבְּתוֹךְmy heart;לִבִּיyour faithfulnessאֱמוּנָתְךָand your salvationוּתְשׁוּעָתְךָI have spoken;אָמָרְתִּיI have notלֹאhiddenכִחַדְתִּיyour loyal loveחַסְדְּךָand your truthוַאֲמִתְּךָfrom the great assembly.לְקָהָל רָב
You,אַתָּהYHWH,יְהוָהwill notלֹאwithholdתִכְלָאyour merciesרַחֲמֶיךָfrom me;מִמֶּנִּיyour loyal loveחַסְדְּךָand your truthוַאֲמִתְּךָwill continuallyתָּמִידguard me.יִצְּרוּנִי
Forכִּיevilsרָעוֹתhave surrounded meאָפְפוּ עָלַיwithoutעַד אֵיןnumber;מִסְפָּרmy iniquitiesעֲוֺנֹתַיhave overtaken me,הִשִּׂיגוּנִיand I am notוְלֹאableיָכֹלְתִּיto see;לִרְאוֹתthey are moreעָצְמוּthan the hairsמִשַּׂעֲרוֹתof my head,רֹאשִׁיand my heartוְלִבִּיhas abandoned me.עֲזָבָנִי
Be pleased,רְצֵהYHWH,יְהוָהto deliver me;לְהַצִּילֵנִיYHWH,יְהוָהhurryחוּשָׁהto my help.לְעֶזְרָתִי
Let them be ashamedיֵבֹשׁוּand abashedוְיַחְפְּרוּtogether,יַחַדthose who seekמְבַקְשֵׁיmy soulנַפְשִׁיto sweep it away;לִסְפּוֹתָהּlet them turn backיִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹרand be humiliated,וְיִכָּלְמוּthose who desireחֲפֵצֵיmy harm.רָעָתִי
Let them be desolateיָשֹׁמּוּbecause ofעַל עֵקֶבtheir shame,בָּשְׁתָּםthose who sayהָאֹמְרִיםto me,לִי“Aha!הֶאָחAha!”הֶאָח
Let them rejoiceיָשִׂישׂוּand be gladוְיִשְׂמְחוּin you,בְּךָallכָּלwho seek you;מְבַקְשֶׁיךָlet them sayיֹאמְרוּcontinually,תָמִיד“Magnified beיִגְדַּלYHWH!”יְהוָהthose who loveאֹהֲבֵיyour salvation.תְּשׁוּעָתֶךָ
And Iוַאֲנִיam afflictedעָנִיand needy;וְאֶבְיוֹןAdonaiאֲדֹנָיwill thinkיַחֲשָׁבof me;לִיmy helpעֶזְרָתִיand the one who brings me to safetyוּמְפַלְטִיare you;אַתָּהmy Elohim,אֱלֹהַיdo notאַלdelay.תְּאַחַר
