The burdenמַשָּׂאof the wordדְבַרof YHWHיְהוָהconcerningעַלIsrael.יִשְׂרָאֵלDeclaresנְאֻםYHWH,יְהוָהwho stretches outנֹטֶהthe heavensשָׁמַיִםand lays the foundationוְיֹסֵדof the earthאָרֶץand formsוְיֹצֵרthe spiritרוּחַof the human beingאָדָםwithin him:בְּקִרְבּוֹ
“Look,הִנֵּהIאָנֹכִיam makingשָׂםJerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםa cupסַףof reelingרַעַלfor allלְכָלthe peoplesהָעַמִּיםaround;סָבִיבand alsoוְגַםon Judahעַל יְהוּדָהit will be,יִהְיֶהin the siegeבַמָּצוֹרagainst Jerusalem.עַל יְרוּשָׁלִָם
And it will happenוְהָיָהon that dayבַיּוֹם הַהוּאthat I will makeאָשִׂיםJerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםa heavyמַעֲמָסָהstoneאֶבֶןfor allלְכָלthe peoples;הָעַמִּיםallכָּלwho carry itעֹמְסֶיהָwill be severelyשָׂרוֹטinjured;יִשָּׂרֵטוּand allכֹּלthe nationsגּוֹיֵיof the earthהָאָרֶץwill gatherוְנֶאֶסְפוּagainst it.עָלֶיהָ
On that day,בַּיּוֹם הַהוּאdeclaresנְאֻםYHWH,יְהוָהI will strikeאַכֶּהeveryכָלhorseסוּסwith bewilderment,בַּתִּמָּהוֹןand its riderוְרֹכְבוֹwith madness;בַּשִּׁגָּעוֹןbut onוְעַלthe houseבֵּיתof JudahיְהוּדָהI will openאֶפְקַחmy eyes,עֵינַיand everyוְכֹלhorseסוּסof the peoplesהָעַמִּיםI will strikeאַכֶּהwith blindness.בַּעִוָּרוֹן
And the chieftainsוְ אַלֻּפֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהwill sayאָמְרוּin their heart,בְּלִבָּם‘The inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵיof Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםare strengthאַמְצָהto meלִיin YHWHבַּיהוָהTsevaot,צְבָאוֹתtheir Elohim.’אֱלֹהֵיהֶם
On that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאI will makeאָשִׂיםthe chieftainsאַלֻּפֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהlike a brazierכְּכִיּוֹרof fireאֵשׁamong wood,בְּעֵצִיםand like a torchוּכְלַפִּידof fireאֵשׁamong sheaves;בְּעָמִירand they will devour,וְאָכְלוּonעַלthe rightיָמִיןand onוְעַלthe left,שְׂמֹאולallכָּלthe peoplesהָעַמִּיםaround;סָבִיבand Jerusalemוְ יְרוּשָׁלִַםwill againעוֹדdwellיָשְׁבָהin its place,תַּחְתֶּיהָin Jerusalem.בִּירוּשָׁלִָם
And YHWHוְ יְהוָהwill saveהוֹשִׁיעַthe tentsאָהֳלֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהfirst,בָּרִאשֹׁנָהso thatלְמַעַןthe honorתִּפְאֶרֶתof the houseבֵּיתof Davidדָּוִידand the honorוְתִפְאֶרֶתof the inhabitantיֹשֵׁבof Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםmay notלֹאbecome greatתִגְדַּלaboveעַלJudah.יְהוּדָה
On that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאYHWHיְהוָהwill shieldיָגֵן בְּעַדthe inhabitantיוֹשֵׁבof Jerusalem;יְרוּשָׁלִַםand the one who stumblesהַנִּכְשָׁלamong themבָּהֶםwill beוְהָיָהon that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאlike David,כְּדָוִידand the houseוּבֵיתof Davidדָּוִידlike Elohim,כֵּאלֹהִיםlike the angelכְּמַלְאַךְof YHWHיְהוָהbefore them.לִפְנֵיהֶם
And it will happenוְהָיָהon that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאthat I will seekאֲבַקֵּשׁto destroyלְהַשְׁמִידallכָּלthe nationsהַגּוֹיִםthat comeהַבָּאִיםagainstעַלJerusalem.יְרוּשָׁלִָם
And I will pour outוְשָׁפַכְתִּיonעַלthe houseבֵּיתof Davidדָּוִידand onוְעַלthe inhabitantיוֹשֵׁבof Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםa spiritרוּחַof favorחֵןand of supplications;וְתַחֲנוּנִיםand they will lookוְהִבִּיטוּto me,אֵלַיwhomאֲשֶׁרthey have pierced;דָּקָרוּand they will lamentוְסָפְדוּover himעָלָיוlike the lamentכְּמִסְפֵּדoverעַלthe only one,הַיָּחִידand grieve bitterlyוְהָמֵרover himעָלָיוas one grieves bitterlyכְּהָמֵרoverעַלthe firstborn.הַבְּכוֹר
On that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאthe lamentהַמִּסְפֵּדin Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִַםwill be great,יִגְדַּלlike the lamentכְּמִסְפַּדof Hadad-rimmonהֲדַדְ רִמּוֹןin the plainבְּבִקְעַתof Megiddo.מְגִדּוֹן
And the landוְ הָאָרֶץwill lament,סָפְדָהfamilyמִשְׁפָּחוֹתby familyמִשְׁפָּחוֹתapart:לְבָדthe familyמִשְׁפַּחַתof the houseבֵּיתof Davidדָּוִידapart,לְבָדand their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶםapart;לְבָדthe familyמִשְׁפַּחַתof the houseבֵּיתof Nathanנָתָןapart,לְבָדand their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶםapart;לְבָד
the familyמִשְׁפַּחַתof the houseבֵּיתof Leviלֵוִיapart,לְבָדand their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶםapart;לְבָדthe familyמִשְׁפַּחַתof Shimeiהַשִּׁמְעִיapart,לְבָדand their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶםapart;לְבָד
allכֹּלthe familiesהַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹתthat are left,הַנִּשְׁאָרוֹתfamilyמִשְׁפָּחֹתby familyמִשְׁפָּחֹתapart,לְבָדand their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶםapart.לְבָד
